This is a book that is good for any adult: married, single, divorced. It’s important to state that this is not a book just for people who have problems in their sex lives, but for those who want to experience the fullness of the gift God intended our sexuality to be. This is important to those who are single and looking forward to that future relationship and to be reminded that what we truly desire cannot be found outside of God’s design.

I felt some shyness at posting that I had read this book on a public forum, but after attending a live class with Dr. Jennifer a couple days ago, I changed my mind! One of her foundational teachings is need for us not to be embarrassed by our sexuality since we are all created by God as sexual creatures. The opinion that sex is a taboo or “dirty” topic can really cause a lot of shame and drama in our lives. She uses scripture that may surprise those who aren’t familiar with sex in the Bible outside of “don’t do it till you’re married.” She also deals with how media/entertainment, our culture and family of origin shape our view of what sex is and the positive/negative views of our bodies. The hope is to bring sexuality back into a holistically healthy frame as the gift it is intended to be.
Good stuff! Another of her books, titled “Redeemed Sexuality”, is not yet in the Goodreads database, but is also an important one!

Very practical. Really draws on the scriptures and digs deep into the issues of your marriage. We read this book as part of a marriage class at our church that Jennifer taught. She has such insight and a gentle way of helping everyone to self reflect and focus on changing yourself.

As a Christian I had many reservations towards sex, this book made me understand in the context of a healthy marriage there is freedom in sexual expression

Love this book. Went through with a highlighter and highlighted several very good points and verses along the way. I didn’t read from front to back, just read whatever chapter I was feeling interested in. I really learned a lot in the book not only about sex education but also about how a husband things and what his needs are. Was very informational and plan to save this book for when my daughter intends to marry.
