A remarkable gift can arrive in an unremarkable package. One did in Bethlehem more than 2,000 years ago. No one expected God to come the way he did. Yet the way he came was every bit as important as the coming itself.

I was gifted this book by someone I know and so I gave it a read. I haven't read a Max Lucado book before to my recollection and I can't say I'd seek him out again but I also did not dislike it. I think this advent devotional book makes some very good points. Lucado is rather clever with words and has a good sense of humor. I'm reformed in my theological leanings and Lucado has a Baptist background so I have a little quibbling to do with some of his points, but nothing so major as to take the time to spell it out in a review. :) It was good. I think he missed a major point of Christ's coming, but he had plenty of insightful, good words to share all the same. He made me think real good ;) a time or two and I found his style of writing very pleasant.
