They were married before... no way Jami and Zayden can make it work again... can they?
Jami Aspen walked away from her five-year marriage, her heart broken and her pride bruised. She planned on never looking back, no matter how much she wished for a do-over – or at the very least an explanation - until he showed up, demanding his wife back.
Zayden DeLorien doesn’t play games. He can’t figure out why Jami is. After an accident six weeks ago on a trip he took to try to recover from his divorce he didn’t want, Zayden's memory has holes he can’t explain -- AND THE BIGGEST ONE? WHY HE AND JAMI AREN'T MARRIED ANYMORE AND WHY SHE LEFT.
Unbeknownst to each other, they both end up on a boat headed for a deep-sea fishing expedition. When it crashes, Zayden pulls Jami from the water and they find themselves stranded on the small island just out of reach of Getaway Bay.
Alone. Together.
Will their time on the island cement their separation or will Jami and Zayden find the memories they need to get back to the wedded bliss they both desperately long for?

FTC DISCLAIMER: I RECEIVED AN E-ARC FROM THE AUTHOR. I VOLUNTARILY OFFER MY HONEST REVIEW OF THE BOOK, THOUGH IT IS NOT EXPECTED OF ME! RECEIPT OF THIS BOOK IN THIS MANNER DOES NOT AFFECT MY OPINION OF THE BOOK OR THE CONTENT OF MY REVIEW!
After not really enjoying the first book in this series, I wasn't sure what to expect from this one. Unfortunately, it's more of a 3.5 star read for me that I couldn't really justify upgrading to a 4 star read.
I have to say that it started out really great, much better than the previous book in the series, in fact! However, it suddenly does a flashback scene and after that, they're no longer stranded! There's no intimacy, very little discussion, and almost nothing that is characteristic of being stranded with a former love! That abrupt shift really ruined the mood for me! It was almost as if the author had to stay within a certain amount of pages and jumped the book ahead to remain within that allotment!
I have to say, though, I really loved Zayden! He seemed so earnest, so real in his desire to understand Jami's point of view as to why she divorced him. I could even see why Jami wound up filing in the first place! I also really loved Zayden's willingness to show Jami just how much he wanted to be with her by uprooting his life to join it to hers.
While the abruptness of the shift spoiled this story for me, I see potential in the rest of the series and am interested in seeing where it goes from here!
When Jami's husband (falsely) accuses her of cheating on him, she leaves him, and files for divorce. Months later, he's got a head injury and amnesia, and is tracking her down in Hawaii to find out what happened to their marriage. He sneaks onto her boat as she's taking it to the mechanic, and ends up shipwrecked with her when the boat sinks.
So, both of these characters are idiots who wouldn't have had most of their problems if they'd actually talked to each other. That's the big flaw in this novel. It's well written, though rushed. I really like the character of Jami's boss -- I'd love to see her get a sequel, because she was the best part of this book.
Quick read but definitely exciting. Stranded With Her Second Chance had all kinds of things happen…there was a broken heart or two, there was a divorce, there was a husband-who-wasn’t-still-a-husband, a crazy boss…and it was a fast-paced, fun read. Jami was a bit too closed off in places, at least to me, but I loved Zayden. My head hurt for him, that’s for sure. (You’ll understand when you read it.) I recommend and enjoyed this story. And I will think twice before I step on a boat on vacation…
-‘...his truths were: one, he loved Jami, two, he couldn’t remember what he’d done to destroy their marriage, and three, he’d do whatever it took to fix things between them.’-
-‘They had everything they would need. He just needed time to convince her to fall back in love with him and forget everything he’d done.’-
Intriguing idea for a story. Ironically, I just read another book right before this one and in that story the couple also ends up stranded on a deserted island. Funny that. Maybe it’s going to become a new trend? I really enjoyed the pace of the story and the voice of it. The thing that bothered me, though, was that the couple would jump so quickly to conclusions and head for divorce right off the bat. I found that part annoying and unrealistic. Unfortunately, there were many grammatical errors as well and that really distracted from the story. Overall, I enjoyed the story but I would’ve given it a five star rating if those two things had been tightened up before publishing. I do recommend it as a clean romance and if you can suspend reality and avoid errors while reading it, you’re all set.
Stranded with Her Second Chance by Bonnie R. Paulson is about love, jumping to conclusions, running and finding each other again. Jami and Zayden were so in love or so Jami thought and then her world fell apart. So she went to a small town in Hawaii to start fresh working with a fishing expedition company. Zayden meanwhile was in a work related accident that put him in a coma for3 months. Divorce papers were signed and the marriage was over, but not for Zayden. He was going to find Jami and declare is love and ask for forgiveness. But things don’t always work out as we plan. A ship wreck and a deserted island, plus a bad sting from a Man-O-War proved that point. Would Zayden and Jami find happiness again? Will Zayden remember their past? This is a story that keeps you guessing and wanting to read until the end.
I really enjoyed reading this book. It’s well-written, and entertaining, the storyline is believable and well-paced. I read through the book without a pause up to the end. If it comes to an HEA, You must find out by reading this book.
The changes between the POV’s of Jami and Zayden gives the certain touch to the story. The main characters are well-developed, with true feelings. Not only Zayden had lost his memories, but both, Jayden and Jami have trust-issues which they must overcome.
I received an ARC of this book provided through BookFunnel. I have voluntarily chosen to leave my review in support of this book.
I had a hard time getting into the story. The plot line was good. He came to find out why they had divorced. He lost six weeks of memory. After their divorce she moved far from him as possible. Working on fishing boats in the ocean is the opposite of what he expected of her. She doesn't know about his memory loss. There was secrets that led him to believe that she was cheating on him. Hence the end of the marriage. Now he wants answers. Will she be willing to explain? Or is it way too late?
A heartbreaking second chance. Jami walked away from Wyoming and her 5 year marriage because her husband accused her of cheating. Zayden does not remember why he is divorced. It was surprise for him but because a couple worker was blind sided by his wife's affair. Zayden pushed Jami away. He comes after her after being in a coma and they get stranded on an island. Will he remember and repair the damaged he caused?
Have to love a second chance romance! The story line has interesting characters as well as doubt, insecurity, survival and love. Found this to be a quick read, I could not put it down. Don't miss this series!
I voluntarily read and reviewed this book; all opinions expressed are my own.
Stranded With Her Second Chance was a quick, easy read with a unique plot. It is well written with some unexpected twists. The main characters have chemistry - although they seriously lacked communication skills. I enjoyed it and read straight through.
Jami never expected to look up and see her ex-husband, Jayden, when the door opened. Nor did she expect him to be a stowaway onboard her boat. But most of all, she didn’t expect the boat to sink. See how jealousy and distrust and forgiveness can all work together for good.
After her divorce Jami escaped to Getaway Bay. She didn't want to leave Zayden. But he signed the papers. Zayden wanted his wife back. If he could only remember why she left in the first place. Great story. Loving the series.
Really enjoyed reading this story. I just love second chance romances. This story shows what will happen when two people do not communicate. Couldn't put this book down. I recommend this book
Getting stranded on a remote island with your ex is not the best way to get over a divorce. Especially not when you discover why he never came after you before! Good story line.
I enjoyed the story line is this book. The characters were enjoyable and relatable. There were good descriptions so I could picture the characters in my mind as I read.
I love reading this author's books! She comes up with such interesting situations for her characters. This one definitely pulled on my heartstrings. It is amazing.
I liked it. It was sad just how badly Jami and Hayden had allowed pride to mess up their lives, but happily they worked past it and we're able to mend.
