Jeff Kinney is an author of children's books including Diary of a Wimpy Kid book series. Jeff was born in College Park, Maryland, in 1971 where he created a comic strip called "Igdoof."He also created the children's website 'Poptropica'.
I loved these books growing up. It had simple but funny visuals and a very low stakes and fun story that could get pretty wacky. Jeff Kinney was the goat for making these and also making Poptropica. I would read these books multiple times as well as play Poptropica constantly. Unfortunately the latest book I read in the series was double down and even back then I could tell that one wasn’t as good. I assume the one’s he’s released since then aren’t as good as all the other bangers but I respect the grind. Minus one star for that and the current state of Poptropica but other than that what an awesome series.
lemme just say that i'm turning 18 but still read this series now. just goes to show how it's still incredibly relatable and hilarious. i grew up on this and i even met Jeff Kinney! He's a great dude honestly. i always pick one of these books up when I'm bored cause it's just so good.
My son and I have been reading this series for the last year. He loves the books and is ready to start the series over again. A lot of relatable humor, with life lessons peppered in.
