In oneself lies the whole world and if you know how to look and learn, then the key is in your hands.

In Chronicles of Kali, the author has attempted to combine fantasy and mythology with philosophy. It also blends in elements of an action thriller which make the story highly entertaining.

Without giving away the plot, Chronicles of Kali is a story set in modern times with a mythological background. The world has become a battleground for the demons from the netherworld (Asurs) who have hatched a diabolical plot to manipulate human minds and enslave humans. The fate of the human world lies in the hands of a teenager, Kali. Born with sharp intellect and supernatural powers, can Kali and her allies protect the world from plunging into darkness?

The author has blended the ancient mythological stories of the Goddess Kali (the destroyer of the devils) and several age old philosophies with Sci –fi elements to create a modern fantasy story of Good vs Evil. As a concept, Chronicles of Kali felt unique and intriguing. The story has all the elements of an excellent fantasy story; an unique setting, a powerful antagonist, a strong female protagonist and a well-developed central idea. The story starts off brilliantly and the opening chapter is one of the finest I have read. The start raises your curiosity about the plot and the first half of the story where you learn about the whole conspiracy feels exciting. The first half builds the story well, asking pertinent questions to the readers through puzzles and concepts which was crafted into the story perfectly. The story loses a bit of momentum in the second half. With too many things going on (time travel, portals, teleportation & conspiracies) it felt difficult to keep track of everything. Also, I as a central character Kali needed more scope. Though the ending felt a bit rushed, it tied many of the loose ends and the book of Asurs in the end was a nice touch. The story telling was excellent and keeps you hooked right till the end. The ending leaves a lot of scope for a sequel and hopefully we will learn more about Kali’s adventures in the next book.

Overall, Chronicles of Kali is an engrossing read. If you like mythological fiction, you will enjoy this one.

Many thanks to V Influencers and the author Prithvi Raj Banerjee for the review copy.

Initially when Vishnu introduce me to this book I wasn't sure about reading "Chronicles of Kali - TheSecret Book Of Asurs" by Prithvi Raj Banerjee by judging it from the cover. I'm glad I have read this book. I guess the quote "Don't judge a book by its cover" is indeed true, especially for this book.

At first, I expected this book to have a story of goddess Kali in a comic version with some modern twist but when I started reading it I realized it's not that at all like my assumption.

This is a story about kali who was found near the river Ganga by the sage Vyas. Her mother lost her by the river and saved by floating raft. She had supernatural power where she could talk with animals and plants. She was trained from the childhood to defeat Asurs. Asurs, on the other hand, had a book which had the teaching of how to keep human in their mental chatter and destroy the earth in the process. Kali and her team were the only ones who could destroy the book and defeat the Asurs. Will she able to accomplish her mission? Read the book to know more.

I love the plot of this book. I think this book has captured so many aspects multiple genres like thriller, mythology, psychology, fantasy. It also has a social message of human destroying nature. There were so many examples to make us understand mind chatter and how to free ourselves from it which I loved the most, The storytelling was awesome it keeps you on the edge till the end. The book of Asurs at the end was also a nice touch.

I have no complaints about this book, it had made me see the concept of goddess Kali in a different way, a satisfying read I must say.

Blurb- The book is based on our protagonist Kaali, it is believed that she is the daughter of river Ganga. Her mother lost her by the river and she was saved by a floating raft. She was born with the supernatural powers and in her childhood she was taught with such knowledge. But at a point, she was facing a threat to her life, so she was sent to Los Angeles along with the Pat. She can talk with trees and animals. And it is believed that she has been born to defeat Asuras. Read the book to unfold further plot.

My take-
▶️ Unique plot.
▶️ Fantasy fiction is woven around the current scenario.
▶️ Great use of language and Vocabulary.
▶️ I myself learnt so many new words after reading this one.
▶️ Page turner.
▶️ Amazing twists and turns. But sometimes that makes plot bit cumbersome to read.
▶️ I like the story of Three men in the box and ox. That part is my favourite one.
▶️ Overall good one.

It was just an average read. I felt like I was reading a book written somewhere else rather than where the book should be based in. The character development was rather weak and the chemistry amongst the characters were a bit superficial. And for the main protagonist, everything seemed to be too convenient. I feel the writing style is okay for the kids. Other than that there was nothing much different.

Chronicles of Kali is a mytho-fantasy book. It's a story of Kali who is the embodiment of Goddess Kali in this book. Enlightened soul Vyas finds Kali floating in the Ganga. Kali had some special powers which makes this story an interesting read. Through this book Author has tried to give a really good message to readers about their thoughts and mental chatter that doesnt allow them to be at peace with themselves. This mental chatter keeps their thoughts clouded and these negative thoghts grip their minds leading to disharmony. The Asurs have the secret to disturb the thought process of humans and in the story the protagonist tried to unearth that secret. The is an intriguing story and kept me hooked till the end. I especially got really curious to read more when Vyas asks Pat to come to his place for five days and everyday he narrated a different story and asked her questions. I just loved their interactions and just like Pat, I could not wait for the next day to arrive. I did not expect that this book would help me learn so much about human thought process. But this book is a must-read for everyone and not just mytho-fiction lovers.

The cover of the book is really creatively designed and the title is apt.

RATING : 5/5 Stars. Definitely recommended!

MY REVIEW

Mythological fictions are my all time favourite. I absolutely like how Authors experiment with the plot and connect some part of the existing mythology to their imagination and current generation problems. The Author here has also brilliantly explained about negative thoughts in the human brain that lead to so many problems, apparently, that is what Asurs want; they support the mind chatters to happen and derail the positivity in us. The narration in the plot is perfect, some may find it confusing because you need to travel back and forth in the story to understand the plot. However, I found the transitions smooth. Description of characters and the story was apt however I felt a little more twists and thrill to the story would have made it a hit. I really adored how the Author built up Kali's character as a little child, the essence of innocence to the description is crisp and cute. You would literally laugh on little Kali’s thought processes; naive! Not to forget I also loved the five stories Vyas narrated to Pat. It was like going back to school and listening to some moral stories. It’s like stories within a story. Lovely concept! Rest-good language, gripping plot, in fact, innovative plot. Enjoyable read :)

I give it a 4.5/5.

BOOK REVIEW

Description: "Chronicles of Kali The Secret Book of Asurs by Prithvi Raj" is an engrossing story of adventures, female power, good vs evil, right against wrong, The story starts off with the protagonist Kali, who was found by master Vyaas  floating on a raft in Ganga. Kali had a supernatural power of being able to interact with nature. She was destined to do something big for the human race,to save them and their thought process from the Asuras who have the secret to create disharmony.

Overview / My Opinions: Author has did a great job by questioning the civilization. At first cover is eye catching but can improved little bit. The character of Kali the goddess is embedded into this small girl with a very captivating hazel eyes who has a greater purpose to serve. To make the human free from the cunning asur's plan to corrupt the humanity.
The most fascinating factor of the book is the way it has been compiled. The whole book is divided into numerous small small chapters within which contains a lot of small sub sections. This makes it one of the most easy flowing and quick read and holds the reader into the book.

I recomend this book to every mythology lover this one gonna best reads...

Cover is eye catching and very bright colourful. The book is divided into various chapters with intriguing titles.
The vast collection of words this plot plays with makes this book a profound read.
Please do check Blog linked in bio for pictures from inside and to know more about what the story revolves around.
How the story dances between ancient mythology and real life again is praise worthy. I donot read this genre much but this is fiction is different than the others that come fully based on raw mythology.
Writing style is good. Pace is fast but the language may be found bit difficult for some portion of the spectrum of readers.
Asthetically the book is very nice with fine quality pages , font size and binding .

A thoroughly entertaining and enlightening book. It has all the ingredients of a potboiler yet retains the charming perspective of storytelling. The character of Kali stood out, kind of a Wonder woman touch. The story appeals to pretty much all age groups in this genre. Must read.

Mythology is not one of my favorite genres because of the slow pace these books have. I usually take a lot of extra time to finish these as compared to the other genres and Chronicles of Kali is one such book with the same genre. But the modern touch made me explore this one. So, I picked it up and started reading. So, the book title is perfect, but the book cover could have been better. I personally didn’t like it much.

I am a kind of reader who gives some amount of importance to the cover of the book, but the most important part has to be the content of the book which is definitely up to the mark. The narration and language are simple yet fulfills the expectations from the author and I won’t say that the writing style is great, but yeah it’s good. So, I would love to explore more by the author.

Chronicles of Kali has got everything whether its thrill, the adventure, the depth, relatable and powerful characters, detailed cultural data or the way the book has been narrated. It’s definitely not boring and you will never feel confused anywhere throughout the plot setting.

We have all grown up hearing the ancient stories about the Goddess Kali from our childhood. This book is a modern version of such and I won’t reveal much about the story or the plot so you read it yourself and don’t miss out any thrill of the story. So, I highly recommend you read this book if you are a person who likes to read similar genres. Overall, it has been a good read for me.

We have been hearing the tales of goddess Kali since childhood, and this book is a modern version of such tales. We all know that Goddess Kali was the destroyer of the asur Raktabij, in the similar way, the protagonist, modern day Kali is one of the most important part of the plan to destroy the asur Bakasur's plan of infiltrating human thoughts and making them captive in their own mind, and leading the world into darkness.
The story is quite unique in all aspects. This book is more than just mythology, its an actual representation of present day scenarios. Humans are really a prisoner of their own mind. The thoughts that once helped man learn things had now gone out of control, as the thought-factory in their minds churned out one thought after another. I really liked the concept of box of thoughts, that is, humans have a box of dense thoughts around them, and they get so lost in these thoughts, that they could no longer focus on what's really around them.

I would definitely recommend this book to other readers, especially to the ones of who like mythology, as it will better resonate with them.

Review-
Mythology has been one of my favourite genres. Hence, I never miss a chance to read a mythological story and where mythology is laced with imagination, making it a perfect combination.
Chronicles of Kali is such an example of a combination of ancient Indian Mythology bejeweled with modern traces and imagination which makes it a perfect read for any reader.
We Indians grew up listening to the stories of Goddesses Kali, who has a dusky complexion and defeated the demon Raktabija. Prithvi Raj gave this story an interesting twist and re wrote a great theme in an unexpected way.
Kali, the young protagonist wins hearts of not only the animals with whom she shares meaningful conversations, but also the readers. The concept of both Chinta and Vichinta written by the author along with additional touches of his own makes the book a lot more enthralling.
The character that I loved the most was Pat's. She fit perfectly into the equation making the story a lot more enjoyable.

My Ratings: ***.5* / 5*

Chronicles of Kali The Secret Book of Asurs by Prithvi Raj is an engrossing story of adventures, female power, good vs evil, right against wrong where the author questions human civilization, human thinking and our thought process. It is an unique and amazing attempt to create an admixture of fantasy with mythology, depiction of the SHE power with a modernized portrayal of Goddesses Kali in the form and shape of a young teenager, also named as Kali who unlike Goddess Kali has dusky complexion, who has defeated the demon Raktabeja – who is loved by both humans and animals surrounding her.

The young teenager Kali is fighting against evil, against the Asurs, there are many people who are supporting and guiding her in this journey, protecting her from the wrong doers since her birth – Will Kali be able to save the mankind from these demons is what to watch out for in the story.

The title Chronicles of Kali The Secret Book of Asurs is fully justified as the story is a tale of this young girl Kali who in many ways has similarities with the Goddess Kali, her journey of how she will fight against the demons or the asurs.

The author is successful in creating a strong distinguished characters be it the protagonist – Kali or the other major characters Patrica referred mostly a Pat, Percy, Vyas, the Japanese lady who looks after Kali and the other minor characters like Tony Pats ex husband, all the reincarnation of Asurs etc, the characters are marked with sharp contrasts and distinguishing features. The story leaps forward not only by pace but something amazing something strange or hidden which one gets to know about the characters in the later part.

The plot is not something very new – story of a Wonder Girl, but in terms of Indian context with the snippets from the Indian mythology and fantasy makes it an interesting read. The author is definitely successful in penning and linking Indian mythology with fantasy where the fast pace with something un speculative taking place and grabs the reader’s attention. The chapters are small and the story is divided into different parts.

There were five stories which Vyas told Pat to understand whether she was the correct person for Kali – those stories are reflective of human nature, human emotion and sentiments. It is one of add on factors which is wisely utilized by the author.

The major attraction was the book cover but again it reminded me about the poster of a recent popular Hollywood flick. I think it could have been worked upon a little more. One more thing I would like to mention is that if the sentence construction could have been a little better it could have made the narration more impressive.

Overall, Chronicles of Kali The Secret Book of Asurs by Prithivi Raj is a good attempt and is a must read for readers who cherish fantasy and mythology with adventures and mystery. Go and read this book and get driven into the World of good vs evil.

1st Book of 2019

Quote from the Book I Liked - 'Human Thought - a device that could be more lethal than any weapon conceived by any warrior in History.' (Page 33)

Rating - 3.5 (3 for book + 0.5 for Cover)

Plot Summary - A fantasy/fiction novel that lures the reader into a parallel world of ferocious Subterranean Asurs plotting and planning to enslave the entire human race. Kali the protagonist, a regular teenager, soon learns of her supernatural abilities after which her life gets swept up in a whirlwind of cosmic adventure along with her companions; an ageless comrade, an unsuspecting
mother and an enlightened master who help in fulfilling her destiny. The journey unfolds some thrilling mysteries across geographies; from the city of Angels, Los Angeles
to our very own ancient Varanasi. An interesting read that cleverly clubs together history, adventure, and fantasy.

My Review - The story is about a girl found floating in river Ganga at the shore of Banaras by a hermit, Vyas. He nurtures her until the age of 11. The girl has got a telepathic ability to talk to all the Voiceless creatures, trees, Dogs, birds, and other animals. Then comes a writer from America who had a Writer's block for some time now. Her butler told her about a great secret hidden from the Humankind for a very long time the secret of 'The Secret book of Asurs'. In hunt and in curiosity to find more about the book and the story for her new Novel, she comes to India in the tutelage of Vyas. Here, she meets the sweet little girl Kali and encounters a covert war between Asurs and Humans. Trapped between Asurs and her expedition to find the book, she discovers her love for Kali.

The story takes you from Time travel to Teleportation to Telekinesis. The plot for the book is a Unique one which kept me into the book for a long time. But the transition between stories and scenes among different chapters felt abrupt. The book could have been written with more patience which I felt was completed in a Hurry.

The major blow was given to me by the publisher, who I supposed haven't passed this book through Proofreading. As throughout the book their are a lot of Grammatical mistakes and typing errors, merging a lot many words without giving spaces in between. This part irritated me to a great extent.

This book could've been a blockbuster but due to typos and abrupt merger of scenes, it lacked that amazing factor. But apart from it, the book had a great Fictional character of the girl who can talk to all the voiceless creatures which as an Individual, I would love to learn.

Lastly, the cover design by 'The Book Bakers' is what I loved. The design of character Kali showing both of her personalities that as a Deity and that of her modern illustration. Along with the display of both Modern city on the left and Religious city of Banaras on the right. The cover does total justice to the story and showcases the exact thing that the plot is about and hence an extra star for it.

Conclusion - Good plot but could have been better.

I could see lot of fantasy books by Indian authors nowadays which makes me happy. In the book Kali maa’s story has been told on the floor of modern world which makes the story thrilling and interesting. You find a different perspective of who is Kali and For what she was destined to.

Patricia who is a bestselling author was caught in her writers block. She is empty by mind and in search for good tip to write a book. Percy her butler tells her the story of Bakasur , Asur King who wrote a secret book. Soon she was tempted to know more about the story. Percy asks her to visit India to meet his master in order touch the root of the story. Pat decides to travel to India. Does Percy have any connection to India? Who is the master?
What the secret book holds? Does Pat gets herself into the trouble?

Author brilliantly induced the philosophical life lessons with this fictional fantasy book. If you wish to clear your mind from unnecessary thoughts without going to any boring lectures then this book is for you guys.

The book has some interesting characters . Kali is quite an amusing girl who loves her world and life. She is used to her difficult times but still admires the beauty in it. Be it her pure way of handling tough things was narrated well. Master Vyas and Percy had their own contribution to the book. I loved Chinta over Bakasur not for the good things he had but for his innocent gesture when he was back to his real form.

The minute twists and thrill was nice but I felt it was left hanging on a midway. When the school authorities informed Pat about the break regarding Kali files and when Pat found that someone was inside Kali’s room. The thrill went to back seat. The thriller portions were covered with funny moments and conversation which was nice in one way but I expected the nail biting scenes at that portions.

Box of Thoughts and Man from silver screen chapters are my best one. The illustration helped me to understand effectively. The middle the story was blunt but once Chinta character was introduced the story was back to its track. The narration was simple and no complex methods were used to explain the philosophical thoughts.

Now I know, with whom and for what Kali Maa fought. The maze portion was too good. The mind controls and takes over us easily. A single chatter destroys the whole universe,Even Kali had to fight herself to get out of it.
The Secret Book of Asur were really good and thought provoking( in a good way).

Overall ” Chronicles Of Kali,The secret book of Asur” is a fanstasy adventure of Kali who fights with the real enemy , the mental chatter.. As now the book is in our hands , hope we control our mind and thoughts for the good of future world.

Title: CHRONICLES OF KALI- THE SECRET BOOK OF ASURS

Author: PRITHVI RAJ BANERJEE

Publisher: VISHWAKARMA PUBLICATIONS

Pages: 236

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐.5/5

Blurb:

The world has become a playing field of ferocious subterranean Asurs who have hatched a diabolical plot to manipulate and enslave humans.

Kali's teenage life gets swept up in a whirlwind of cosmic adventure. With a quirky ageless comrade, an unsuspecting mother, and an enlightened master to help fulfill her destiny, Kali embraces her supernatural powers. From mysterious revelations in Los Angeles to bizarre events in ancient Varanasi, her trials transcend time.

What is this plot that can plunge the world into darkness? Read on Chronicles of Kali― and embark on a journey that blends history, adventure and fantasy woven into a gripping story that may change your life!

Synopsis:

The story starts with a dusky girl Kali being portrayed as superwoman, which according to me is a pathbreaker. Raised in Benaras by a old sage, Vyas, Kali never got to saw her parents. As a child, she had certain superpowers. She could talk to plants and wild animals. Kali was destined to bring an end to Asur kingdom.

Part 1 of the story was intriguing. With the introduction of characters to the Banaras backdrop, everything was perfect. Part 2 was also readable. The plot picked up pace and reached the climax. Mysteries started unveiling and certain unexpected twists made the read unputdownable. To me, the book declined drastically in Part 3. With unwanted information and confusing plot twists, a reader of the non-mythological genre can often feel lost at times. Part 4 regained the much needed pace and the Secret Book of Asurs explained all the cons of today's world, but from the viewpoint of a Asur. At times the readers might lose interest, but if you are a mythology lover, do not think twice before picking up this book.

.

I liked:

1. The protagonist Kali, is a dusky girl and being portrayed as a superwoman.

2. The Cover. Instantly attracts.

3. Command over the language of the author.

.

I disliked:

1. Even though this is the 1st edition, there were a lot of printing errors which were unmistakable.

2. The graph of the story declined drastically at certain points. Became boring and confusing at times.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FOR THOSE WHO LOVE MYTHOLOGY.

This was my first mythology book and I was obviously very excited. Kali is a name that we all are familiar with. Ever since childhood, she has been my favourite and after reading the blurb my excitement skyrocketed.

Kali in a modern era? That's something I can't miss.

The story revolves around the notion of how evil asurs have been infiltrating human thoughts and have been making them a prisoner of their own mind for centuries.

The author has blended the ancient history of Goddess Kali to the main protagonist, Kali, a teenager with supernatural capabilities, who is destined to destroy the wicked demons and save the humans.

Along with Kali, the story consists of Pat who is the adoptive mother of Kali and an author. She travels all the way to Banaras from Los Angeles in search of an idea and to seek information about how to unravel the mystery of the Secret book of Asurs. Her journey is followed by an enlightening adventure where she finds more questions than answers. How are asurs controlling human thoughts? How can the human stop thinking? How can the humans lift off the Box of thoughts?

The character Kali stood out for obvious reasons, She is a teenager who talks with plants, animals and birds. She is innocent but she is also destined to defeat an evil demon. She is a badass. I couldn't help but think of wonder woman while reading this. You will fall in love with the character in an instance.

Other characters are also interesting and have a depth which makes them relatable. There are so many insightful lessons one can learn through this book.

The plot was refreshing with a thoughtful concept. The narration was incredible throughout the whole story. The descriptions were vivid and beautiful. The concept of describing bad thoughts as a fog or box reminded me of The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath. I was in awe of accurately an idea was representing something we all feel and go through in real life. I started believing that this must be a conspiracy of a demon. It just must be. I really felt like I was in the story.

The book keeps you hooked and never fails to amaze you, even if you are not into this genre, you will still enjoy it.

If you too are tired of the mental chatter and are looking for answers, this might be what you've been looking for all this time.

I loved it you might love it too.

First of all I have to say that I really love the introduction of the book. The way the author explains his entire experience regarding goddess Kali is really commendable.
Talking about the story, It is a mythological fiction but the best part is that it has a modern twist in it which distinguishes this book from other books. The book is based on a strong protagonist character named "KALI".Goddess Kali reincarnated in Modern era with amazing supernatural abilities. Her destiny is to destroy the evil and save the mankind but the evil Brakasur's thought was to pervade the thought of human and conduct the world and the mankind towards a terrible conclusion. What will happen next?
(You have to read the book to find out the remnant)
Review :-
1>The entire plot is absolutely beautiful and easy to understand as well.
2>Every single character especially the character of Kali is really well built and strong.
3>The book has four chapters and every single chapter of the book is equally interesting to me. The book is definitely a page turner.
4>The story telling is beautiful indeed and have to say the cover of the book is absolutely awsome and attractive.
Recommendation:-
The concept, the plot ,twist everything is good in this book and I think it is a great book for all for sure, a beautiful social message is hidden in the story as well ,just grab it and you will not regret.

The cover of the book is fabulous, which had attracted me in the first place. The story is a combination of mythology and fictional world. The plot began with the high note about the protagonist Kali, who has been blessed with super powers. The exciting journey of Kali has been divided in four major parts. The plot has been pictured with a start where Pat is seen talking to the trees of the neighbourhood. The background built is mesmerizing, where the author Pat requires a new plot for her novel and decides to visit India. In India, she meets the master Vyas, and every meeting changed her perspective about life and demons.

The things I liked about the book are the strong definition of each character. Every character has some super powers of building conversation with strange characters such as animals and trees. There is drama in every chapter which helps in connecting the dots. However, in few parts, the story jumps between past and present which was a bit confusing to me as a reader. The beginning of the book kept me glued to the plot. The quest for the new book took Pat to India. The next part of the novel with the reference to immortal characters confused me. I believe the plot became plateau by the end of the part 3. Part 4 is more of the gist kind of the sub-division for the book. There are a lot of questions which would arise in your mind over the course of the plot.
So how did Kali get those powers....What did she do with them? To know the answers to these questions do read the story.

The language is simple and easy to read. However, there were quite a few typographical and language errors in the book.

Chronicles of Kali; The Secret Book of Asurs
⚔️
#PLOT: The book is based on the protagonist Kali. People believed that she is the daughter of river Ganga. Her mother lost her by the river and she was saved by a floating raft. She was born with the supernatural powers. At a point, she started facing a threat to her life, so she was sent to Los Angeles along with the Pat. She can talk with trees and animals. And it is believed that she has been born to defeat Asuras. Do peep into the book to know more about the story and her adventures!
⚔️
#WRITING_N_NARRATION: Mythology fiction is the current favourite genre of Indian authors nowadays. The Writing is pretty lucid and on point but for a book having a fantasy and adventure elements to it needs to be high pace; the narration was pretty bland over like 60 pages then the book started gripping up!
⚔️
#CHARACTERS: This book is filled with strong characters and unique one too!  I liked the strong definition of each character. Every character has some super powers of building conversation with strange characters such as animals and trees.
⚔️
#MY_VIEWS: This book throw some light on the awareness of the modern day problems of stress and lack of mental peace, and a slight trace of importance of meditation . I like the elements where Kali can interact with tress and animals and the mind chatter as well! Book is filled with; adventure, supernatural element, time travelling, immortality etc. A fun read❤️

This is my first book by the author and I won't l be lying if I say I enjoyed the first part of the story.

The cover of the book is fabulous!

The story begun on a real high note with the readers coming to know that the Protagonist Kali has certain superpowers that allow her to speak to plants and Animals. From this point on I was mighty excited to know more about Kali and her foster mother Pat and housekeeper. So how did Kali get those powers....What did she do with them? To know the answers to these questions do read the story.

The things I liked in the story was the thought behind writing that book and also the plot of the story. As a reader I fell in love with the cute Kali.
The premise is really unique and the thought process in writing the book to make it a fantasy and to convey the workings of the mind through fiction is highly impressive

What I did not like about the book is that there were quite a few typographical and language errors which kind of bothered me a bit.
The language is simple and easy to read.
In parts the story jumps between past and present which was a bit confusing. Also the author could not keep the intrigue element throughout the story. I felt the later part of the story kind of hit a plateau!! I would have loved if it was more pacy and riveting.
Having said these things I can say that this book can be enjoyed by people who love fantasy clubbed with a bit of mythology and lot of spiritual teachings.

The story is about an eighteen years old girl Kali, who lives in Los Angeles with her mother Patricia. She is blessed with some supernatural powers with which she destroy all the evils existing in the society.

The story starts as - Pat, a traveller meets a little girl Kali who was found by sage Vyas near the river Ganga. Kali has the supernatural power to talk to plants and animals and she is on a mission to destroy the Asurs. She took help from Vyas for her mission and the story revolves around how she ended those Asurs - just like what goddess Kali did.

Review - The book is a perfect blend of indian mythology and fantasy world. It's a modernized twist relating to the mythological goddess Kali and the author beautifully matched the modern Los Angeles city along with Benaras, the holy city of India.

Goddess Kali symbolise the destroyer of evils as well as the motherly love for her nature, who destroyes all the evils existing within the nature. Like that, in this story, the character Kali, blessed with her powers destroys the Asurs of our society.

The narration is plain and simple with a good pace of the story. The story is very much interesting that will force you to stick to it till it's end.
Overall a very good read.
Recommended for all those readers who loves to read modern mythological books.

I had a really wonderful experience with this book.
Its such an enlightening read!

The storyline was quite diverse than what we usually find in mythological books.
The writing style was good, the language used was easy going and lucid, the cover is designed sceptically keeping in mind the interest of a reader and the title is chosen appropriately keeping in mind the interest and curiosity of a reader.  I loved the characterization of pat & kali, it was neatly done. I absolutely loved the twist that suddenly came in and was the I-DIDN'T-EXPECT-THAT-TO-COME kinda movement, secondly i absolutely loved the concept around which it revolves, its very deep , raw & an eye opener.  The only drawback of it is that the story takes a slow pace in the between.  The illustrations and poem enhanced my reading experience !

Lastly ,This book has many take away lessons, which shall help one to ponder over his abilities and hidden strengths.

Overall, this was a very pleasant, innovative and an enchanting read!

Definitely recommended for mythological lovers and also if you wanna get started with mythology  (just like i did ;p)

The story starts off with the protagonist Kali, who was found by master Vyaas  floating on a raft in Ganga. Kali had a supernatural power of being able to interact with nature. She was destined to do something big for the human race,to save them and their thought process from the Asuras who have the secret to create disharmony.
My Views:
What fascinated me in the first place was the eye catchy brightly coloured illustration on the cover by the author himself.
The author have beautifully compared Asuras with human thought process.
The chapters are full of short mythological tales which makes the story more interesting and fun to read making it more relatable to the modern age.
The characters have been developed  with much thoughts and research.
Being a mythology lover every chapter made me stick to the book till the end.A very very thoughtful topic combined with entertainment from Los Angeles to the Ghats of Benaras.
I recommend this book to everyone.😎❤️
A book that reveals the secrets of human thoughts and how one can defeat them.

Book :- Chronicles of Kali : The secret book of Asurs

Author :- Prithvi Raj Banerjee

Publisher :- Vishwakarma publications

My ratings :- ⭐⭐⭐⭐/5

Amazon link :-

https://www.amazon.in/Chronicles-Kali...

My review :-

➡️ You don't always find books that tells you stories of fantasy in mythological way but also include the most important life lessons and act as a self-help book altogether. This book is one of those rare piece of work which includes anything and everything a good book can have.

➡️ To start with the cover of the book, it looks amazing with a female protagonist in a battle costume with weapons in hand and looks just like Wonder Woman. An Indian Wonder Woman. The title of the book with two parts, one of the series and other of the book has not much of a co-relation to the story apart from a few mentions. The story is far more diverse and intensified than what the title could convey.

➡️ The story starts with a few instances showing the prowess of Kali. But as it goes on later, it gets into a much deeper concept of Thoughts and how to avoid it and enjoy silence and peace. The Asurs and Humans depicted metaphorically in relation to the devilish thought process that keeps recurring in humans mind and how it is defeated in the end is what is the essence of the story.

➡️ The book has a lot of interesting concepts of war art raft, time travel, teleportation, 3 different worlds, Seismic energy and much much more complex entities which has been explained in as simple a way as possible.

➡️ The style of writing of the author is commendable. The story doesn't lag behind in surprises and plot twists that are essential to make it a gripping read. Along with it, the book also gives the notion of a self-help book with its amazing explanation of human thought process, mental chatter and how we could avoid it. The most fascinating factor of the book is the way it has been compiled. The whole book is divided into numerous small small chapters within which contains a lot of small sub sections. This makes it one of the most easy flowing and quick read and holds the reader into the book.

Positives :-
➡️ Compilation of the book
➡️ Easy flowing style of writing
➡️ Gripy plot line
➡️ Simple conclusion

Negatives :-
➡️ A few thinks have been left unexplained.
➡️ Inclusion of few unnecessary scenes and characters.

Altogether it's an amazing book and anybody who loves the genre of mythological thriller and also the self help books can have it as their read and would surely love it.

Genre- Mythological fiction

"Chronicles of Kali; The Secret Book of Asurs" is a mix of mythology and fiction. This was the first Mythological book I ever read, and my first experience was good. Goddess Kali reincarnated in modern era? Now that's what you call creativity. The cover is designed in kind of a manga style. I am a sucker for manga so obviously I thought the cover was pretty good. But the plot is so much more, so it could have been more enhanced.

The book tells the story of a teenage girl Kali, the Indian goddess reincarnated in modern era, with supernatural abilities and is destined to destroy the evil and save human race. The plot is good. The story medium paced at times but gradually increases. The characters are quite similar to other typical plots; brave badass girl fighting evil. But the mythological element is what makes this plot different.

The depth of the characters is very relatable. The narration style was simple bit effective. The concept of evil taking over our minds and ruining everything was good too. If you haven't yet read any mythology book then I suggest you to go for this one. It definitely makes a profound yet enjoyable read.

Review : A very intriguing and fantastic cover, was my first thought when I picked this book up.

Based on Indian Mythology, the tale of Kali and the evil Bakasur, with a modern twist to it, this book starts with Pat, a writer from Los Angeles, who visits India in search of a plot for her new book and also in search for answers.

On reaching India, she meets Vyas and our protagonist Kali and thats how the story unfolds.

I was personally impressed by the plot of the story and the inclusion of Indian mythology as a whole in different parts of the story and how they were included. The characters unfortunately were unable to woo me and at times I felt like unnecessary things/events were given too much attention, whereas important events were rather rushed.

The transition between the past and present events also weren't that swift and at times left me confused and I had to read the paragraph again.

I however, loved the book in terms of the story and the ending was rather apt. The overall idea that the author wants to convey definitely reaches out to the readers.

The author, has also included illustrations in the book, that makes it rather easy to understand and keeps you hooked.

Definitely reading next books in the series because the story was inspiring and interesting.

Rating : ⭐⭐⭐. 8/5

Chronicles of Kali; The secret book of Asuras by Prithvi Raj

The book begins with an introduction which goes on to explain the author's fascination with Goddess Kali, a Hindu goddess of time, death and doomsday. She is most often depicted as a fierce fighting figure with heads of asuras around her neck, skirt of severed arms, red tongue and a sword with blood.

The book is a modern twist on the mythological stories about the Goddess. Based in Los Angeles, the 17 year old girl Kali lives with her bestselling author and adoptive mother Patricia.
The book goes on to show the strong opinions, protective instincts and super human powers of the girl and how she must fulfil her destiny against unfavourable external influences.

I felt at times that the book could be written in a slightly more coherent manner however the plot and modern day twist definitely make up for it!

Overall I rate the book a 3.5/5 stars 🌟 🌟 🌟 🎇.
