Jaco holds a BA in Information Science from USB. He started his career at South African media company Media24, working on the websites of some of the country's most well-known newspapers. He went on to become editor of TradeInvestNigeria, after which he founded Maritz Africa. When not building Maritz Africa, Jaco enjoys investing in other businesses. He is a regular speaker on business in Africa.

This book is a crash course in MBA. Each of the 25 dynamic entrepreneurs has taught me something new if not reaffirming my ideas about entrepreneurship. The entrepreneurs are sharing their start up struggles, which in most cases is a part left out in popular motivational books. It gives one a sigh of relief that as a budding entrepreneur in Africa, you are not alone; others have been in tougher situations and managed to be successful. The stories have made me rethink about how i do business; its riddled with nuggets of wisdom.

Wow, just wow! I have really enjoyed reading each and every one of these success stories... This book just goes on to show that with a lot of hard work, perseverance and a little bit of luck😉, success in Africa is eminent. Great read!!

Love this book! Different problem solvers and the biggest problem they solve is themselves. Learned that in business an idea isn't enough,you need luck and the luck is created through value creation and resilience. Kudos, can't wait for my chapter.

There is no real insight in the book, by any means of doing business, Africa itself or entrepreneurship. Just short stories of 25 entrepreneurs who started their own business in Africa.
