Your Writing Partner: 21 Ways to better business writing results

Rate this book
I started writing Your Writing Partner a few months ago. However, this book is nine years in the making. It is the book I wanted to read as I developed my blogging, digital marketing, and copywriting skills. Information that deals more in practicalities than the theories you would see in a college textbook. That is why Your Writing Partner is more than just a book. Instead, it is a system to help you develop the writing skills you need to drive targeted traffic and conversions to your business through your content. I set up the system, so you do not have to go it alone trying to figure out the best content marketing strategy. You now have a Writing Partner who can help you choose the path less traveled. For that will make all the difference in your career. The book also comes with a free course that provides you with the skills you need to become an all-star writer.

‘First, You need to understand your target market. It is the first law of writing.’

Andy Nathan is the founder of Smart at the Start, a blog and social networking consulting company that helps small businesses grow through bite-sized internet marketing services. He successfully worked with hundreds of entrepreneurs in over 90 different industries over the past nine years.

Andy introduces his book and its purpose in his first lines – ‘Business writing exposes others to your core beliefs about why your product or service is the best. While the ability to share this information through digital media is stronger than ever, many of us are afraid to deal with the opportunity and rejection. I wrote this book because writing content for your business requires you to move past those fears. Yes, a professional writer does sometimes get beaten up by editors, bosses, clients, and readers… Business writing is as much an internal battle for motivation as it is a way to send out the right message. If you are to influence your target market, you need to influence their thinking first… Despite all the fantastic communication tools at our fingertips today, no device is stronger than a clear message given to the right audience…etc.’ So we know the bridge over troubled waters and can get into the facts.

Keeping it focused and easy to follow Andy present his 21 days to being a better business write – survey, buyer person, psychology start with the end in mind, write form your experience, read your competitors reviews remove all distractions, Kiss (simplicity), research key words, style guide, outline, headlines, tell a story, the 10 minute timer, edit once, twice, thrice and more, perfect is the enemy o good, multiple intelligences, jargon avoider, Mr. Occam meets Mr. Pareto, clarify your message, and finally be yourself. Of course the sections devoted to each of these topics is are rich in meaning, but at least that gives an idea of how down home Andy’s presentation is.

No matter at what stage you find yourself in writing, this little book is a treasure. Use it and grow!
