Loved the idea. Liked the book, a little repetitive in the writing, but would love to listen one of the speeches. Inspirational, a book to go back. And redo the lists.
Nick's story is inspirational and his positivity comes through strongly. What you believe about yourself and your world are entirely up to you and you have the power to change those beliefs at any time. It is a little repetitive but it wasn't too distracting. Good advice in a quick read.
I actually met Nick in person & I've been following him on social media. I recently had an opportunity to be mentored by him as well. Everyone should read this book about Nick's story & how he overcame and tackled obstacles set before him.
Been following Nick on IG for a while, after being introduced to him through a friend. He is an awesome person from what I can see and is a great speaker! Listened to a podcast he did a while ago & it was my first time exposed to his story & I was blown away. Nick writes this book in pretty much the exact fashion, in regards to how he speaks. (I just prefer his speaking.)
That being said, this obviously was a quick read. I thought it was good..nothing spectacular. I will say, my FAVORITE part was his section on speaking about core values. It is something that is not seen in any media these days and isn’t preached anywhere near often enough. Also, I did enjoy that he added quotes at the beginning of his chapters.
Otherwise, I think adding some stats could’ve propelled this book more. As much as it was a personal book, not everyone takes information at face value. That’s when stats could really pump up the sell and message of the book more. (Side Note: i was *kind of* annoyed at the marketing throughout the book, but it wasn’t that big a deal)
For Nick’s first book, it was good. I would’ve just probably suggested one more read through, as there were a few grammatical errors. I volunteer to edit his next book if necessary! Haha.
Last point: there were some phrases said throughout the book I would’ve just been careful with. Making broad or just direct powerful statements is messy & maybe even getting several readers to read an advanced copy of the book would’ve helped.
Okay last last point; there were some sections that definitely could’ve been elaborated more upon. Like, it was a good point. But wasn’t driven home. (Stats could help with this & just delving more into the topic.)
Otherwise, quick read. The kindle copy is $1 so it’s not much of a loss. Looking forward to what Nick has in store next!
Enjoyable, easy read. Great concepts but a decent amount of writing errors or misspelled or missing words. Love the general topics and inspiration! Would recommend for motivation!
