I read an early edition of this book, in Dutch. Completely outdated now of course.

A little dry (perhaps unsurprisingly), but overall a clear, concise guide to the UN that covers both the basic structure of the organization as well as its main concerns and activities, and some of the areas of controversy that have accompanied those.
