Lambertus Jacobus Johannes Aafjes, known as Bertus Aafjes, was a Dutch auhor and poet whose work is marked by Catholicism.
Aafjes was born in Amsterdam. He wrote poems on the resistance to the German occupation during the World War II. He died in Venlo.
Between 1951 and 1973 he lived and worked on a real castle, the Castle Hoensbroek, near Maastricht in The Netherlands (see photo).
