About the author

American Jesuit priest, poet, lyricist, and essayist.

He articulated and defended a strict interpretation of the Roman Catholic doctrine, extra Ecclesiam nulla salus ("outside the Church there is no salvation"). He took the position that baptism of blood and baptism of desire are unavailing and that therefore no non-Catholics will be saved.

where has st. elizabeth ann seton been my entire life what

this biographer is lowkey out of pocket (included rants about humanitarianism and kinda socialism too), and i vibed with it sometimes. i don’t think this was a super cohesive and thorough biography.

but seeing as i found it in the library of a retreat house, i’m fine with it.

st. elizabeth ann seton, pray for this catholic school teacher :)
