Her father might be dead, but Kizzy is determined to reunite with him, even if it means turning back time. To have a chance, she must cross oceans to claim a crucial artifact.

Kizzy won't be going alone. Daniul, the fussiest mage in the world, is determined to vex her with his company. He complains a lot, rests a lot, lectures constantly, and refuses to help anyone unless it suits him.

Their quest takes them through pirate-infested waters, and meddling with time leads them into more trouble.

Dragons weren't always extinct.

Please note: This is the second book in The Black Chronicles series. Reading the first is recommended.

I'm a rather reclusive author living in Ohio with four cats.
I write super fluffy fluff and darkest grim grimdark. "This author has a strange imagination" was my favorite compliment ever. I hope my strange imagination entertains someone out there!

The characters are really growing on me and I found this 2nd book a bit less gruesome than the 1st and am really enjoying the adventures our mage and Kizzy are embarking upon in order to find the amulet and more information regarding their time travel because she is adamant on wanting to see her father once again. Even though she knows he is the black knight, the cruel man everyone feared and detested she only remembered Eion, her kind mentor who taught her self defence. Daniul is taking his role of protector seriously however he drives poor Kizzy crazy as he is so pernickety but they are becoming fond of one another no matter what they say. I love that they meet up with the pirates as these add a new twist to the tale and I must admit I love Wyler Lupe who is a bit of a rogue and a ladies man but who I hope will do well by Kizzy. Alissa is quite annoying however discovering that she has powers came as a big surprise. I hope these will change her too, to make her a better and less flighty woman. I definitely will go on to read book 3 as I find myself really invested in the tale now.
