Forgive me Father, for I am about to sin.

As spring melts into the hottest summer I’ve ever known, my love for my new parish priest fuels a rebellion deep in my soul that no man dare tame. Once unleashed, not even the all-powerful King of England can contain the force that we will become.

It’s time for an unholy war, and my forbidden lover and I will fight to the death before we let our fire be blown out.

About Sam J.D. Hunt

Sam J.D. Hunt resides in Las Vegas with her husband, the inspiration for the young Thomas Hunt character, as well as her two children. Her debut trilogy, The Thomas Hunt Series, put a fun and unique spin on the popular BDSM genre. She followed up with the highly successful DEEP: A Captive Tale--a dark BDSM erotic captor/captive story about a pirate and his lady that spans time and space. Her fourth novel, the full-length standalone The Hunt for Eros is an erotic art adventure that combines spicy romance with a cultural adventure based on true life events. It has been described as being like The Da Vinci Code, but with lots of heat added.

Hunt's next release was co-written with her husband. Dagger: American Fighter Pilot is a steamy contemporary romance, which follows a squadron of fighter pilots as part of the American Fighter Pilot read-in-any-order series. Following the release of Dagger, Hunt released the much-anticipated MMF/Bi/Ménage erotic adventure, Taken by Two. Next, Hunt plans to release DEEPER: Capture of the Virgin Bride as a follow-up to DEEP. When not writing, Hunt enjoys travel, community involvement, spending time with friends and family, and hiking. She spends her days writing and trying to answer the age-old question: is it too late for coffee or too early for wine?

Whoa! Killing the King is incredible. A book like I have never read before, I went in completely blind and that's what everyone should do. Sam J.D. Hunt creates a journey like no other. She's written a love story that is exquisitely intertwined with a plot that could have changed the course of history. A time where the forbidden was unthinkable yet didn't stop one Tess Darby from loving a man she shouldn't. Where she and her Edmond are thrust into a journey that is full of passion. Full of bravery. Full of confrontations. And oh so full of the unexpected.

I couldn't get enough as Tess and Edmond embark on a wildly unpredictable road together as they try their hardest to satisfy each of their obligations that in turn, threaten to thwart their future. Dealing with the past they left behind in their small town, those who pretend to have their best interests at heart and the powerful ones who can ultimately control the future with just a mere command.

These characters are delicious!! Tess is a bada$$ like I've never encountered and Edmond and Harry are devilishly delightful. Add in a 4-legged protector in Beast and some unsavory villains and you have the perfect story.

As salacious as it is evocative, Killing the King is one book I won't be forgetting any time soon. I honestly could not put it down and am beyond hopeful there will be more to come.

Perhaps not for the faint of heart at times, and dare I say, even those scenes had a mirth to them that was unexpected, Killing the King is utterly fantastic. I couldn't be happier I finally decided to read it, sitting on my Kindle for far too long. It deserves nothing less than 5 huge stars!

I can’t believe that I read a Historical Romance and LOVED it! I’ve tried reading Historical Romance a few times but could never get passed chapter two! With Killing The King, I didn’t want to stop turning the pages.

This is definitely something I wouldn’t normally pick up but I’m so glad that I went out of my comfort zone and read it. So many twist and turns that I never suspected nor saw coming. It’s thrilling, sexy and a great story.

Some may say it’s taboo or I can’t read that genre.. me included. I jumped into this book blind.. and I truly enjoyed it. I will never forget Tess and Edmond’s journey! I hope you give their story a chance.

I haven't read this genre in years ... but this is a go to author for me, and I was shocked at how much I loved it. I was drawn deep into a giant world, and taken on a completely mesmerizing journey. I felt the emotional pull of Tess and Edmond - their desire to be as one, yet the pull of a different life calling. The mystery and intrigue kept me flipping page after page and not wanting the story to end. The additional characters woven throughout set this book up to be an epic series. I can't wait for more Saints & Sinners!!

With a few exceptions, I really don’t like historical romance. Since I’ve loved everything Sam has written, of course I’d see what she had to say. My love for her writing continues. This was a great story, with a few side stories. There were domestic conflicts, religious conflicts, legal conflicts.

Everything flowed well, and it almost had the feel of an opera with all the drama. Looking forward to the next book.

I usually dont read this genre but I went in blind because i love this authors work. And she had me hooked from the beginning! The writing was on point and the story was so good. I love a book that I feel like I was there and this one does it for me. This book has it all. If you like books that include sex, murder, plots to murder, and many other things that also include the church then this book is for you!

Enjoyed Every Second of this Book.

This may be a new subgenre for this author, but when you know how to write like she does, it will still be a story worth your time to read.

It's amazing how she can take a real historical figure like Henry VIII and weave a fictional tale within the truth. It was fun and exciting and I know you'll love it too.

Must read

This was my first book by this author and it won’t be the last. I don’t usually read historical stories but from the amazing cover to the end I loved it all. If you don’t like stories that take liberties with the church then this isn’t the book for you. If you like stories that would be considered taboo, then read this. I can’t wait for the next one.

Forbidden romance

I’m a sucker for forbidden romance but this book takes it to a whole new level. I love Edmond, Tess and Henry’s relationship. I didn’t see that one coming. I’m a little disappointed because She’s left alone even. It feels liked Henry and Edmond was up being together instead of her. All in all, I’d really enjoy this book.

I usually have a hard time getting into a book written so far back in history. This book was by far the best! Oh what a ride. I could not stop reading this book. I ignored everything to read it start to finish in one sitting.
The characters are so captivating and the plot thickens with every revelation!
I need more than five stars.

Delightfully dark

There can be no light without dark, no good without evil. Tess and Edmond are the perfect balance of both. Maybe it's my own twisted humor but I caught myself chuckling quite a bit with this one. Totally recommend.

Not often reading this gendre I was amazed at how much I loved how the author took a historical figure, Henry VIII and wove a fiction story around him. It is about a brave strong girl (Tess) who falls in love with her new parish priest (Edmund). The story has forbidden love, passion, confrontations, and murder that takes Tess and Edmund on a journey they could not imagine would take place. This story is so intriguing and captivating I could not put it down. I highly recommend this amazing story. It is one I will not soon forget. Anxious for the next book in this series.
