White Ravens: And More Stories
Each story in the White Ravens collection chronicles a rite of passage through which all human beings must pass. In this collection, author J.R. Stewart has focused on what men must go through. All but one of the stories have been published previously in literary journals. The story "A Wild Goose Chase" appears for the first time.

I read this lovely collection of short stories as an e-book and must buy another physical copy to treasure as I felt a connection to the stories in the way that a good book of poetry moves me. I will want to read them again, and some portions perhaps often. I am not just impressed with the movement of the stories and how they resonated, but the subtlety that leaves me thinking about deeper layers of human connection. The author writes with love for the natural world that is genuine and not at all contrived. I will be purchasing copies for gifts.

This is a collection of tales set in the modern American West with characters who somehow dispel the rugged individualist myth, while at the same time giving it new meaning.
