Very detailed analysis of how culture and bias work in the medical field, the only issue is how outdated the language is surrounding many Indigenous peoples like the Innu. This book had me facing my own cultural bias and recognizing the way in which my cultural gaze would affect my ability to interact with others and assess their needs. Overall a lot of detail and thought was given to explaining the way in which specific cultural norms work to give care practitioners assumptions that could be avoided with better cultural understanding.
