Rate this book
As the story of Finding Laila continues, we learn more about Cole Cameron, one of Laila's best friends:

Everyone has their role to play.

Laila is the glue.

Haden is the artist.

Braxton is the grownup.

Joey is the brains.

And Cole Cameron...well, he's the wildcard.

So when he decides to move from South Carolina to New York City, no one is entirely surprised. The adjustment isn't as easy as he expected, but when he meets Mackenzie everything starts falling into place.

Until one fateful night everything changes.

As Cole wrestles with the past and navigates the present, he has to come to terms with his role in the one night he can't forget.
The truth always comes out, and when it does, things may never be the same again.

Back in 2013, TK to fulfilled a lifelong dream of writing and publishing a book. She thought that book, Being There, was just an itch that needed a scratch, but it turned out that the characters in her mind and the words that came from them brought her joy.

Now an empty nester, she finds herself with more time than ever to write...but where to begin! Probably from the beginning...or somewhere in the middle?

When she's not writing or working on remodeling homes, she can be found spending time by the water, being with her daughters, or enjoying a date with her husband of 25 years.

One of TK Rapp’s best!

This book got to me...I had been in a book slump until this one. Nothing could keep my attention. This book captured my heart, broke it and then put it back together.

Lost a best friend

Loved this book. How it shows the grieving stages in the story. Cole is lost in life because he doesn't know how to cope with losing his best friend. But with his friends by his side he fines peace with himself

It was with great trepidation that I read this book and I truly took my sweet time getting around to it. As the follow up to Findng Laila, which I loved, I was worried about how things would turn out for this group of friends I had become invested in.

I knew I would be wrecked as the book addressed a serious loss and how each of the friends dealt with it. What I didn't expect was the polarizing ways each person viewed their experience and how hard it was for them to initially understand each other's behaviors.

The growth each character showed and how they were not only able to gain empathy for each other but also newly affected characters helped me cope with the devastating event and how quickly things can change.

I recommend reading Finding Laila first to get the full understanding of the relationships of the characters. If I had one suggestion for this book, it would have been to have the characters be a couple of years older and land in a less conspicuous city. Those were the things that I struggled with as a reader. Otherwise, this was solidly written with great character development and a climactic plot twist I didn't see coming.
