Bluebird is the story of a man turning to stone. Following his young son's death, Henry Dunstan yearns to become insentient and impervious to sorrow. He turns to boulders, marble, and flint to gain wisdom, guided by a decades-old vision he experienced while visiting with a carnival psychic in St. Louis.
Bluebird is the story of a man struggling with the grief of his lost son, who tragically drowned. Dunstan builds a workshop in the hills above his house, a sanctuary where only he is admitted. Slowly he disengages from him family and from the people of Bluebird. His wife Melissa, who struggles in her own way approaches the tragedy differently. Where Henry pulls away, Melissa looks for ways to ingrain herself with the people of the town in which she grew up. She wants to be loved, where Henry wants to lose his feeling of love. To become like the stones that makeup the wall surrounding his workshop.
