To save her life, will he have to break her heart?
RUSS
There has to be some kind of a mistake, there is no way Floyd would hire a woman to break the horses.
Who does Sydney think she is, coming to Blackgum Acres with her fancy words and shiny equestrian boots? She probably doesn’t even own a cowboy hat.
And now she has my cabin and my job.
I’ve been called old-fashioned, a real modern-day cowboy on more than one occasion, but damn it, I’m not going to go out of my way to help her, and I sure as hell ain’t going to like her.
Can hate turn to love for the rodeo star? Find out in this classic enemies to lovers, opposites attract tale - with a virgin twist.
This book is a lot of sweet mixed with a little spicy; so if a dash of steam is your thing, you'll love Forgetting the Rancher.
i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the enemies to lovers romance between Sydney and Russ. Sydney is a young woman who is in college with hopes of going to medical school and following in her family's footsteps. Sydney has always thought she would be a doctor and worked hard to get into the top schools. Her family was extremely wealthy and and Sydney also loved horses. Sydney owned two horses and often spent time with them. When she finished her fourth year of school and realized she only ever studied and never had any fun, she went out with a friend and had too much to drink. After a bad date, she saw an ad on the internet for a horse trainer and she applied in hopes of having some time to herself before going back to school. Russ was a ranch hand who used to be a rodeo star until he was injured. When Russ met Sydney, he thought she was a spoiled princess who didn't know about training horses. Sydney was trying to fit in on the ranch, but Russ was being difficult. After Sydney and Russ worked together, their boss wanted them to train the horses together. They began a friendship which eventually turned to more. Sydney told Russ she was a virgin and Russ realized he loved her. When her father demanded she return to school, Sydney wanted to stay with Russ, much to her father's displeasure. I liked this book, I really liked Russ. I think he really loved Sydney and wanted to be with her, but he thought he wasn't good enough for her. I think Sydney wanted to be happy and wanted to be on the ranch. There was a great connection between Russ and Sydney and it showed how they trained the horses together, Good one.
Opposites attract, so they say. Sydney and Russell are definitely from opposite worlds She's from a life of unlimited wealth, privilege and destined to attend the finest medical school in the country. He's a ranch hand from a troubled homelife whose rodeo career had been sidelined by a broken back. Enemies at first followed by a beautiful love story. Surrounded with horses with names like Applesauce, Cowboy, and Dorito. Lots of drama, suspense and some anguish. Written out of one will and surprised by another. A story about real people without any pretenses. Sometimes your real family is whom you choose and not what you're born with. It's the real things in life that matter and money is not the most important thing. Sometimes you have to follow your heart and your dreams rather than those of others. No cliffhanger and an HEA. I read a reader copy and voluntarily chose to write a review.
Definitely cute or too cute for me I found the story well written, sweet, romantic, with characters full of good feelings, but in the end it was not enough. It was a little too predictable for my taste. Sydney is ready to go to medical school and she enjoys riding. After spending time in her studies, she thinks she needs a real life experience before going to medicine. Because of her passion for horses, and to get fresh ideas, she finds herself in the ranch where Russell works; he had previously had a career in rodeos until he injured his back. For many days, he can't stand this rich little girl who seems completely out of context in his world, but eventually, they develop a slow attraction. However, Sydney's life catches up with her, as does Russell's past, damaging their relationship. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I have had the absolute pleasure to have read AJ's previous work, however, Forgetting The Rancher is one that I most definitely will not forget. This release has a wonderfully portrayed storyline and the characters are unique as well as truly realistic. Sydney came to the ranch for the horses, needing a break from school and the pressure surrounding it. Russell is the top ranch hand and against Floyd hiring Sydney. These pages are a gift from AJ. You can not choose your blood Family but the Family of your heart, that is precious. Yes, this book is a romance but there really is so much more to it for you to enjoy.
I voluntarily requested an advanced reader's copy of Forgetting The Rancher in exchange for my honest and voluntarily opinion and I highly recommend reading this book as well as anything written by AJ Wynter.
I absolutely loved this story! This is the best enemies to lovers story I read so far and I'm sucker for those. Forgetting the Rancher is absolutely a hit on my bookshelf. It has everything I'm looking for in a great story. There was angst, there was hate, there was chemistry, lust and love. First times for everything. It was exciting journey I took together with the main characters. It captivated me from the beginning, one hell of a page turner. It was also fast paced and action packed, and so so much more. The characters were awesome, fully developed both hero and heroine made me fall in love with them. And the ending! Oh my god! You need to read this.
A delightful surprise, AJ Wynter delivers a spectacular story that brings the city girl to the country cowboy. Sydney is a highly educated, and determined to be the best she can be...but she’s never really lived, she’s chancing her parents dream. She does something unlikely and applies for a job on a ranch in Texas, an old fashioned ranch that doesn’t hire women... until her. Russ has had a hard life and is a modern day cowboy, his rodeo days are over so he’s content training horses until Syd comes along and takes it all... his job and his cabin. Slowly Russ she’s that he misjudged Syd and they grow closer. Will they risk it all to be together or will the past and present be hurdles they cannot overcome. I received an ARC copy and have volunteered to leave a review.
Sydney, a private school veteran, steps out of her comfort zone after graduating college to try her hand at being a horse trainer. While interviewing for the job Russel, head ranch hand and former bull rider, does everything he can to get her to not take the job. As the story progresses personalities clash, dreams are awakened and family will tear them apart or push them together. This was a wonderful cowboy themed romance story by A.J. Wynter which focused on being where you were loved and doing what brings you to life versus following someone else's dreams and plans for you.
I received a free copy of the book from the author. I had the opportunity to review or not.
OK, but rather drippy and fast forwards thru most of the actual story
I read this to the end in case it got better, but unfortunately it just plodded along. It was an ok read if you're trying to kill time, but it just didn't have enough of... Well anything juicy to stop me wanting to put it down. At the very beginning, the story suddenly jumps forward a couple of months... by which time they still hadn't got it on, all very unrealistic... No proper sex scenes... So somewhat tame.... Searched for this book after getting a recommendation in another author's e-newsletter.
I read this book as part of my Kindle Unlimited subscription (free book but I have to pay £7.99 a month for the subscription)
Sydney's family have her life all planned out she is supposed to train as a doctor but when drunk after a night out she applies to become a horse trainer. Now she is in Texas about to start training said horses. Russell is the leading hand on the Texas ranch she is planning to work on he doesn't know whether to kill her or kiss her but he definitely knows he can't walk away from her. Will these two make a go of it Will Sydney family force her back to Connecticut or will she walk away from them and their money to live the life she wants with the man she wants. You will need to read to see if they will finally get a HEA
This rancher romance was an ok read. Sydney finds herself applying for a job to train horses in Texas after finishing college to run from the fear that the future she has set out for herself isn't the one she really wants but it's the dream of her parents. Russell ex-rodeo champ fights her for the job to train the horses but after they get over the hate grow close, but when her father tried to get her to leave Russell realises he is holding her back. A twist to the end makes your heart slip a beat.
ONE INCREDIBLE DELIGHT!!! Man, talk about a dream come true. This is one exciting, heart pounding, fast paced, action packed, pulse racing, but wretching, page turning thrill that captivates from the start. All the twists and turns, ups and downs, doubting and carving your own path leads to places you never believed possible. From the realistic characters and their personalities to the graphically detailed scenes. This is one read you don't want to miss. Wynters did a remarkable job bringing this read to life. Fantastic job Wynter, thanks for sharing this little gem.
A story that is well written and has a nice storyline and plot. The likeable characters has a great chemistry between them. A story with the enemies to lovers theme and an amazing romance. A very predictable romance that is sweet and I would like a bit more edge to it. Written in dual POV which gives the reader more of the feelings and thoughts of the main characters. This helps the reader to get closer to the characters and the story. When your past confronts you and you have to make choices, it is not always easy. Captivating and engaging read.
This story showed me that true love can really rise from the crux of hate. Sydney was studying to be a doctor but had the heart of a true horse whisperer. She took that oppurtunity then she met the hottest guy ever...but he wa a complete A-hole. She couldn't figute if she liked him or hated him. Russ saw nothing but a Miss Priss in Sydney and he felt her presence woould cause trouble. Boy did these two crash into each other. The ups and the downs will make you laugh an cry. In all a perfectly told story. A great read by Ms. Wynter!!!
OMG I'm so in love with this book ! I absolutely loved every second of the read . From the beginning when Russ was so rude to Syd lol ! You knew that had to be some chemistry brewing between them . I almost lost it and cried my eyes out but it all came together in the end ! If you don't read this your missing out on one of the best books I've read this year and I've read a lot lol I mean a lot ! I read at least two books a day . So when one gets me this good it's an awesome read .
I gave this a 5 because it had a good storyline. Sydney has always done what her parents wanted and just the thought of disappointing them causes severe panic. She answers an ad that takes her to a place that she thoroughly loves and feels like she belongs. Russ can't imagine a city girl on a ranch training horses and has a tantrum. They learn to work ❤ together and begin an adventurous dream that neither could imagine. I would recommend this book to anyone over 18. I received this ARC free in exchange for an honest review.
A beautiful story of what expectations can do to a person. Sydney, who followed every wish of her parents and finally thought that their dream was hers. Russel, who believed he had no choice looking to the future, than what he had today. Fortunately everything can change when you put the right people together. It was a lovely story with a lot of heart in it. I would love to read some more with these characters.
I liked how the author started the book. If the first couple of pages do not hold my interest I rarely finish the book. Ms. Wynter held that for me till finishing the entire book. I read at least two or three books a week and found the story line getting my attention and interest. For me a book needs to be believable and realistic. Very enjoyable read!
Sydney "Syd" Strachan wants to be a doctor - has the grades but wants to do something she may never get to do, so she applies for and is hired to break Mustangs on a Texas Ranch.
Russel "Russ" Ryder, ex rodeo star works on the ranch Syd is hired on - she not only takes his job of breaking the Mustangs but she gets his bunk house too. Oh he is NOT a happy camper!
Sweet read, with love, hate, mystery, trust, and more. Sydney Comes from a family of doctors. She has always had her head in books and being the good daughter. Russ is a cowboy who loves the rodeo and horses. One day Sydney lets her hair down and signs up for horse trading. Russ and her are at odds, but can they get past the rich girl and poor boy attitude? Can Sydney train or just ride? Will Russ give her a chance? I received a free copy for my honest review.
This was an Enemies to Lovers Cowboy Romance and an amazing read! The story has a captivating storyline, exciting characters with plenty of steam, and great interaction between each other. I recommend you pick it up and read it for yourself you won't be disappointed.
I received an advanced readers copy and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.... This was a surprisingly good read!! I promise if you get through the first 4-5 chapters, the book is well paced and really fun. Russ and Sydney are well written, interesting characters both trying to find their passion. Overall, good read!!
Was Sydney spoiled as Russ thought or did she just come from a privileged background? She had always had to work hard in her life to get were she was but was it for what she wants or was it what her parents want and expect regardless that it's not what is making her happy. Find out what and who makes She happy.
A part of the An Enemies to Lovers Cowboy Romance series, Sydney and Russ' story kept my interest throughout. A book I would recommend. I received a copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
I loved this book the characters were feisty and stubborn she knew what she wanted and he shouldn’t have tried to tell her what she needed and I loved it great read
