James Ward (1851–1924) was an Irish artist, author and teacher. He is best known in Ireland for his striking murals in Dublin City Hall, depicting scenes from Dublin's history.

This book gives a clear presentation of Fresco painting, its history, and its techniques. For someone beginning with scant art knowledge, such as myself, it is helpful to google unfamiliar art terms along the way to understand what is being said.
