The Ascent of Gog

Can I Play Too?

It is 2062 -- Earth's ecosystem has collapsed after a nuclear exchange between the United States and China. With its governments bankrupt, the planet's starving survivors are ruled by a Consortium of scientific elitists, its weapons killer robots and a synthetic food "Manna" rationed to the masses from the sea.
Shaken by terrorist attacks against its Manna undersea production facility, the Consortium has ordered its top spy to infiltrate the terrorists. She will be assisted by Gog, the most powerful robot ever built.
Lucinda Montavi and her superiors are unaware her mission will expose the dark secret behind the Consortium, terrorists, and Manna, but Gog will soon unleash the darkest secret of all.
"Very well written, dynamic and visual." (S.E.)
"I enjoyed it as fiction as well as a metaphor of our world." (D.E)
"A sci fi thriller. Quite a surprise ending. I recommend it." (S.V.S.)
"The conclusion is emotional. Great read for a flight home." (DS)

Author Gary Naiman builds a horrifying world in this sci-fi story.
It's 2062, the twenty-second century looms close. After famine, riots, nuclear war, natural disasters, global financial collapse, and unfavorable climate change the world is still going. But mankind is not so well. They eat only a substance called Manna, given to them by the Consortium robots. Most all other food is gone from Earth.
Franz Harrier and his co- conspirator Lucinda Montavi are ready to take their revenge on the Consortium. Any moment now they will destroy the power grid for North America. But one of them is not what they seem.
And she works with the robots.
For Cohesion One.
She soon faces her most important mission ever. Undercover again, this time with the most advanced robot on Earth, a meta, Gog.
Together they travel to the source of the Manna, the Neptune Mariana Trench complex in order to solve a mystery, to find a saboteur.
But Lucinda Montavi is haunted by her past, and the use of a hallucinogenic drug called Paradisio.
This story is another of Gary Naiman’s which has a retro, golden age sci-fi feel, it's definitely not hard sci-fi. But it is good.
I enjoyed the read.

Gary Naiman writes another entertaining sci-fi.

📚📚📚📚📙

The most disturbing dystopian stories are those that are easily believable, the ones that we are already on the path towards. This is one of those stories.

Amnesiac robosapien?

Kind of b-rated tale, as well as the story telling style, this was difficult to get exited about, the main character had no clue what she was or what it was, and a junkie addicted to a drug that allowed her to relive her shitty life from the start, talking about a glutton for self punishment. I like dystopian stories but this one was a drag, I like my robots with more sass and attitude not like the sterile and cold ones like the ones in this attempt to an AI uprising, this is more like an AI rehearsal.
