I'm a Founder and I read this book just before we started any real marketing efforts. For this reason, I feel like we're off to a great start.

I found that this book made what seemed to be abstract concepts obvious and actionable.

I'm also a very product orientated person so this book helped me to start thinking of ways to introduce marketing and distribution into the product much earlier that I otherwise would have (a critical must by the way).

It's so amazing, I made my whole team read it!

A common sense approach to the technical aspects of marketing

Heard Jim being interviewed on Inspired Money podcast. Andrew Wang, the podcast host saw a tweet from him that caught his attention and invited him to his podcast.

I am so very thankful for Jim’s openness in sharing his experiences. After listening that podcast episode I bought Jim’s book and it did not disappoint. It’s well written and has helped me identify action steps going forward.

Thanks Jim!

Solid summary of digital marketing and growth for startups

I thought this book did a very decent job at summarizing how to think about digital marketing for a small firm. It’s the best of the brunch for someone looking for a comprehensive overview of the subject. It’s a light, breezy guide, not an in depth deep dive. I like how he contextualizes other authors and books on the subject, framing how they fit together. His podcast and vlog guest talks are good too.

This book is a good, quick read for anyone interested in Growth Marketing. It gives really detailed information about channels companies can use / should use, metrics, etc. It is not very high level or strategic, but rather contains more practical information for how to kick-start a company's growth marketing program. Growth Marketer's Playbook is less of a book and more of a how-to guide.

Some good insights but often too surface-level to be useful. I long for the day when marketing books find examples other than Airbnb and DropBox.

Good overview of growth marketing. Something a bit too e-commerce and basic, but would still suggest this book to anyone interested in growth.
