Dirty Dave is one of Australia's roughest, toughest and nastiest bushrangers. So is his sister Sue. As for their mother Maude, she's the stuff that nightmares are made of. While this terrifying trio is holding up every coach, carriage and passing pedestrian, where is father Dan? Robbing banks? Plundering on the high seas? Rustling cattle? None of these. He's at home sewing. When Dave, Sue and Maude hold up a particularly fashion conscious load of innocents the results are surprising, funny and profitable for the whole family. Inventive story line and hysterical illustrations combine to make this book a real winner!
This is just a weird, weird story about a family of bandits who go around robbing people, but are so well-dressed (thanks to their sewing father) that their victims want to know about their tailor. Yep. That's the story line.
The illustrations are small with lots of things going on.
The title doesn't really go with the book, since it's not really a book about Dave, and the illustrations are small and scattered, so it's hard to follow what's really going on. It's okay.
