I received this book in exchange for my honest review. And honesty you shall get. Typically, when I do these kinds of exchanges, the books are mediocre at best. I find things to enjoy, but that’s about it. This book.... This book is different. Nikki has given us an INCREDIBLE world through her descriptive details. I LOVED the characters, all of them!! Every single character had a reason to be the part they were, there was no useless character or thrown in just to be the “token funny guy”. Everybody had a purpose. I could NOT stop reading, I was literally blown away. Ryker, how I love her so!! I love Fae books, and Day of Ruin was splendid and a breath of fresh air. Just marvelous. I gave this book 5 stars, I was thinking 4.5 ONLY for the errors I was finding throughout. But really, the fantastic story and fantastic characters overshadowed that. I need book 2. Like, yesterday!
It was okay. It didn’t catch my full attention at any point in the story, I think because it was a little confusing between the courts and it often took a couple paragraphs to figure out who’s story I was reading. I actually feel like this book could be turned into two or three easily instead of being mashed into one. The different varieties of Fae in the different courts was nice to see and the story of the Wyth is very intriguing. I’m not really sure what the point of the other two creatures is, it seems a little bit like too much is going on, especially with their addition.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
