5 Stars Love A Midnight Marauder Adventure is a true western novel that was an excellent read. When Slim Hanson discovers he has a teenage son, Richie, from a woman he loved very much many years ago, he is thrilled. Slim, his daughter, Charlotte, and her husband, John Crudder, and his horse, Midnight, welcome Richie into the family with open arms and lots of love. Richie has come because his mother, Marie, has been murdered and she had told him that if anything ever happened to her he should go to Bandera because he has family there. When John hears the story of how Marie was murdered, he takes it upon himself to track down the killer and bring him to justice. John faces many life-threatening and scary situations as he tracks down the bad guys. There were many twists, turns and alarming events that made it impossible to put down Love Child. I particularly liked that Roy Clinton made the story come alive and it was so very accurate to the time period. This is the first book I have read by Roy Clinton but I look forward to reading all of the John Crudder Midnight Marauder Adventures as soon as possible. If you like the ‘Old West’ genre, this book is a must-read. I believe this would make a great TV series or perhaps even a movie. I highly recommend this book for men and women, young and old. Thank you, Roy Clinton, for a winning book in Love Child. RICHIE FINDS HIS FATHER
Slim Hanson whose the elected Major of Bandera just found out he has a son "Richie" Richard Hanson Jr. He didn't know the woman he loved was pregnant with his baby, she disappeared because her family didn't want her to embarrassing or tarnish her family's Castilian background by marrying a "gringo." When Slim found out who Richie was, he was dumbfounded to know he had a son. This family is very emotional, sensitive but they will back you if you need it. John Crudder goes on the hunt for Richie's mother's murderer, almost gets killed while hunting for these three hooligans, who seemed to leave more murdered people as they rode through the town's and outlying small ranches...a very bad bunch of men no heart or soul. They almost killed John when he was ambushed, they trapped front, back and side and they rained bullets on him. They left him for dead. You thought this is the last of John Crudder aka "Midnight Marauder" sad since his family would have missed him terribly..ahh but such is the life on the frontier cheap..
This is a great series I love the family, they are strong and seem to be kind to people, but don't take these emotions as a weakness because they are far from weak..Lordy, these men are strong and they love to eat. Slim loves his twin granddaughters, son in law John, and now his son Richie...LOL

Love Child took me back to my childhood days, when I looked forward to a Sunday matinee of westerns. It has exactly the same feel to all of the Western series that I so looked forward to as a child - The Rifleman, Bonanza, Gunsmoke, The Virginian, The High Chaparral, The Lone Ranger, The Big Valley, How The West Was Won, Death Valley, Zorro, and so many more.
Roy Clinton's style emerses you into the same feel that the old Wastern Tv series and movies had that used to whisk you away on an adventure. While reading Love Child, I could picture every scene as if I were back again sitting in front of the TV with boots and cowboy hat donned, toy guns in hand, waiting for when I could assist the hero.
Thank you, Roy Clinton, for giving me a piece of my childhood back!

Love Child
John was a very unassuming man to look at, however, you just did not want to make him mad. I have followed the Maurader, as he was also known by, through a few bumps in the road to a peaceful life. Murder upsets his sense of justice, it just ain't right, especially, the murder of a defenseless woman. No, this is not something that he can walk away from. Come along for the ride that he take to solve this murder, it's a wild one , and Texas is always beautiful, dangerous, but beautiful. GREAT 👍 READ. BRAVO 👏👏BRAVO 👏👏.

An RC. Texas Western Action Adventure (LC) (AMMA)
RC. has penned a Texas western action adventure titled, "Love Child", which begibs with a young boy witnessing his Mothers murder. He follows her instructions and goes to Bandera where e finds e father he knew he had but had never met . After long discussions the Midnight Marauder decided it was time to get on the trail of his father-in-law's son. Thus begins the chase for the killers by the Midnight Maurader....This is an excellent read for the genre.....DEHS

Loved it!
Really enjoyed the book! I started reading it and couldn't put it down. I'm really glad a friend that knows I love westerns sent me a link to the book and recommended that I get it. I plan on getting the test of Mr Clinton's books. The book kept me interested from start to finish.

Great story!
The Midnight Marauder series is great to read! There’s enough Texas history to keep things interesting and the stories are compelling. Fun westerns, well done.
