When a millionaire realises that there is more to life than money and decides that the only happiness he will find is that which has been tucked away deep into his childhood, he visits the local circus. And there, to his joy, he watches a performing mouse who brings him that joy he has been searching for. McCrum's story may be dated in some respects and I am always uncomfortable when it comes to animals in cages yet this is still a warming story from the perspective of the millionaire and how it is important to understand in life that money cannot buy us happiness but that we must always follow our hearts with the great decisions that life places in front of us. A nice classroom read - Foreman's illustrations are some of his best.
