Some great info on Pendleton but would probably only appeal or be interesting to those very familiar with the town and its layout.

There were several interesting anecdotes about the small towns of the "old west" in general, though. For instance, I thought it was funny that there were at least two of every business so Republicans and Democrats didn't have to coexist in the same facilities. Political segregation is not something I'd really thought about... is that still a thing? It was also grossly interesting to read about the public bathing options: 10 cents for clean water and the price goes down the more the water is used. By the end of the day you could get a 2 cent bath if you could stand the black water. Wow... truly different times...

Lots of other interesting bits of info and a fun way to look back and think about a town that I've lived in for many years and have spent my entire life visiting.
