It wasn't the first time Lash Brogan had aimed a gun at another man and pulled the trigger. It wasn't the first time he'd watched a man fall to the ground bleeding. As an actor, he'd done just that countless times. But this time it was not a scene from one of his movies. This time it was for real.
When Lash Brogan, an Irish immigrant and one of America's most popular movie stars, is kidnapped and held hostage in the mountains of Colorado, it will take all of his strength and determination as well as help from a beautiful stranger to help him escape. Justine McBride is a reclusive physical therapist trying to escape the painful memories of her family's death. After helping him recover, she falls hard for Lash without considering the ramifications of such a public relationship.
Reflections introduces you to a world where fate's not fair, but justice and true love are certain.
Look for future stories that continue to follow the lives of Lash Brogan and his friends.
Originally from Kansas,Sara Vinduska is a romantic suspense author and aspiring farmer in Wyoming. Her other passions include yoga, soap making, good red wine, and K-State football.
After reading "Drowning Man" and loving it, I decided to read her other novel, "Reflections." I have to say it took me a long while to really get into it. Only when I reached the half-way mark did I find it taking a turn for the better, keeping me engaged right up to the end. I think what bothered me the most was how quickly Lash and Justine's relationship developed so soon after his kidnapping. It happened so fast that I had to reread passages to see exactly when they were so taken with each other. In my opinion, there wasn't much of anything except for a bit of flirting on his part. And once they started their relationship, it was full speed ahead over a short span of time. She took a leave of absence of work to spend time at his ranch in a different state, then went with him to Ireland for a week. You may have a different opinion, but I thought it moved too quick. I felt that because of their quick romance, the relationship was front and center placing the story of suspense on the back-burner. Regardless, I still liked both Lash and Justine. I don't want to give too much away except to say that there's a lot going on. Happy readings.
Lash Brogan is a hugely popular movie star who just won his first Oscar. But, he isn't at the Awards ceremony to accept his award. Why is that? Because he has been kidnapped and is being tortured by someone for reasons unknown to him.
Lash finally escapes by killing his captors and is found wandering in the woods of Colorado, suffering from his many injuries. Justine McBride, a reclusive Physical Therapist, finds him and finds herself nursing him back to health.
This book took me a while to really become involved in the story, but once it grabbed me, I was hooked. The characters are well-developed and you really feel like you know them. The story is fast-paced and has plenty of twists to keep you interested. The book also deals with addiction in a very thoughtful way which added another dimension to the story.
There was plenty of romance and a lot of tears involved in this one, too. If you are a fan of romantic suspense, you will enjoy this book. I look forward to reading more in the series. I was given the chance to read this book through Candid Book Reviews and chose to review it.
I thought this book was interesting and easy to read. I enjoy this author's stories. This is not the first book I have read by her. This is however the first book in this series. I read them out of order and was still able to understand all of them. I liked the relationship between the main characters. It was very sweet...it started out traumatically and ended that way...but all the in between was great. They had a chemistry that they could not deny. I would recommend this author to others who enjoy reading this genre.
Finally reading book one of this set and it's like a bull coming out of its chute. It's one hell of a ride. The main characters are strong and snarky. Which I love. Even the secondary characters are strong and keep in line with what's going on. There's lots of romance, heartache and adventure in this one book. Lash is an Irish actor with a mean but typical alpha streak. He knows what he wants and goes for it. Only now that's what got him in the predicament he's in now. Can he find a way to get out of this cell he's in? Or will he die a horrible death by a jealous evil man....
Book one in the Fateful Justice series a well written suspense, romance story that kept me turning pages. The start of movie star Lash Brogan and reclusive physical therapist Justine McBride's story. I want to read the next book. I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Very emotional romantic suspense. Great characters and great series starter. I actually read Book 2 first over a year ago and going back to read Book 1 now was definitely worth it because it adds so much depth to Lash, his lifestyle, family, traits and circle of friends.
I recently ran into a young woman selling a book at the fair. I always try to help out a local artist—especially a local author. When I buy a book from a local author, I'm always hoping the book will be "okay." Well, let me tell you, Sara Vinduska is not "okay", she is absolutely fantastic. I started reading her book late on Saturday evening and before I knew it, I was already on page 40. I completely devoured the book by Monday, which is a chore for me (ADHD, need I say more?).
Sara sets Reflections in both Colorado and Wyoming, with an occasional visit to both LA and New York City, and a really pleasant visit to Ireland which lasts several weeks. Her book follows a likeable hero named Lash, and a heroine named Justine, and let me tell you, I felt like I was falling in love with her by the end of the book! The story is a drama/suspense story with a rather tasteful love story woven throughout the story line. Sara does something that not many authors do: she continues the story once the major storyline tension is resolved. She continues to follow her characters as the aftermath of their crisis abates, and does a darn good job. Sara has a firm grasp on basic and complicated human emotions, love, frustration, fear, joy, grief, and excitement. I would swear she has a PHD in psychology, for her insights are spot on, and could possibly save many people years of therapy if they follow her story line close enough!
Sara's book is rich in dialog, and doesn't bog the reader down with unnecessary details that hinder a reader's progress. Her love scenes are handled tastefully, and her action sequences are not over dramatized. Sara's ability to develop both complicated characters and storylines into simple, engaging words demonstrates her skill and firmly declares that she is a master storyteller. Although, I have to admit, I was a bit overwhelmed with her completely surprising ending (I won't spoil it, and I promise you won't see it coming!), but I suspect she has a purpose for it in the next installment of the series. Her next book can't come soon enough, that's for sure!
Trust me, Sara is a treasure. Her work is worth your time, and you will find it as rewarding as did I. And if you ever get a chance to meet her, you will see that her engaging smile is not her only strength. There is true depth and foundation deep in her soul, and I expect great things from her in the future.
