Informative! Its essentially a management book but dealing with the negatives before the positives. This approach is refreshing and significantly differs from other books of the same type. Its useful to me as a manager, to recongize behaviors that arent ideal, and to recognize behaviors in previous bosses. Theres a lot of jerks in the corporate world, but theres many different reasons why people are jerks - its matter of understanding the context, the culture, and the personality of the individuals involved.

A lot goes into the classification of these behaviors into different boss personalities - lone wolf, con artist, wimp - which helps you both deal and or combat those personalities.

The book additional contains many practical lessons about corporate advancement - the chapter on politics was great!

Perhaps some useful information here. But it's sad if the world of work is this bad!

Made a huge difference in previous interactions with managers and peers.

(Note: this is NOT an editorial on any specific previous manager:>:>)
