It’s a brief daily devo. Little thought provoking comments for busy people to ponder and write their own thoughts on the opposing page. It was nice process for a quick devo. Many days have thought provoking ideas. The last quarter of the book was less thought provoking for me and I found myself not wanting to journal alongside it as some of the points had been covered before. It was a good book and I’m glad I did it. I disagreed with about three of the days posts but was happy it did have scripture to refer to on each day. The best study is from the good book itself, The Bible but Shana did a good job in this workbook journal over all.
I walked in the new smaller footprint Barnes & Noble in my neighborhood and found, among the limited selection of devotional journals, exactly this, exactly what I needed. (There are no coincidences. God cares about every aspect of our lives). It is providing me with a simple path to capturing my thoughts and prayers in writing, something I've struggled with in the past, during a season when I am seeking to receive and share peace, joy, and rest.
A nice, quick devotional that gives a few Bible verses to go along with a page long message and a page to write your own prayer based on the devotion. I enjoyed the devotion and a few messages each week really connected with me. The only thing that was missing for me was more of an "application" challenge/encouragement that I appreciate in a devotion. Beautiful design, colors and set up.
I'll admit it took me longer than 100 days since I don't always use this journal in my quiet times with God, but I found God used it to speak into my life over the last several months to refocus me on trusting him over relying on my own flawed, hurried, overwhelmed self. Every day was a new prompt with scripture to back up the point and lots of room to journal my thoughts and prayers.
I love a good devotional to wake up to each morning and this thematic message of putting my faith and family first, has been such a good reminder of what’s important each day. I think it’s my third one of Noel’s and I love them all. Very approachable, mindful, and scripture-based.
