Don Robinson was born and has spent his entire life in Hawaii . Mostly self-taught, his unique style of oil on canvas depicts the wonders and beauty that is Hawaii . Don has been an artist/illustrator for over twenty years and has been recognized for several highly acclaimed awards for his outstanding art- work. He was the winner of the Hawaii Visitors Bureau "Kahili Award" and winner of the Kapalapala Po'okela Publishing Award of Excellence in illustration for "Kamehameha: The Boy Who Became A Warrior King", a book produced by Island Heritage Publishing. Additionally, Don received Honorable mentions of Excellence for contributions to Children's Hawaiian Culture along with awards for illustrative and photographic books. Don was the illustrator of pen and ink art work of Hawaiian history for Kamehameha Schools and is currently working on his next book.
