Choo Choo

by Samantha Berger, Barbara Egel, Susan Hall (Illustrator)

The Dora the Explorer Choo Choo Sound Book comes with an attached seven-button audio module that enables children to add voices and sounds to a story about Dora the Explorer and Boots riding on the little blue train Azul on a raceto the Big Yellow Station. The book is designed for children ages 3 and older.

Kids match illustrated icons on each page of the book to the buttons on the sound module. When pressed, the buttons activate one of these seven voices or sounds:
Come on! ¡Vámonos! (Dora s voice)
Chugga chugga, chugga chugga, chugga chugga! (Azul s voice)
Train chugging sound effects
Azul! Azul! Azul! (Dora and Boots voices)
Cheering crowd
Choo-choo! Choo-choo! (Azul s voice)
We did it! (Dora s voice)

The book s coated board pages stand up to repeated use. The Dora the Explorer Choo Choo Sound Book conforms to the specifications for toy safety of ASTM F963-08. Three replaceable long-life AG-13 button cell batteries that power the sound module are included.

For some reason, Alice continues to bring home a wide variety of Dora books from school, some with weak batteries like this one. It is fun to cheer the blue train and yell "choo choo," but I must admit to not being the biggest Dora fan. Still, Alice liked it.
