A really great insight on training attitudes and techniques. I liked how this book used real life examples in every chapter and used many different unique words to help readers understand the main idea of the chapters. After reading this one I’m excited for the next book!

The subtitle of this book is "Propel Mindset for Successful Martial Arts Training" but really it is the proper mindset for learning really anything in life. Starting with approaching any subject with an open mind and be willing to learn from the newest person in the building or the oldest person in the room; each person can offer something new to help you on your journey either in Martial Arts, biking, programming, or writing a book - any subject where you are wanting to learn.

The book itself is a nicely paced read and I enjoyed the quotes from Martial Arts great, Bruce Lee (someone most martial arts are familiar with, along with many westerners) along with words of wisdom from several Masters and Grand Masters in the art of Wing Chun, which helped reinforce the key points for a proper mindset for learning.

I cannot wait for the 2nd book

Short, pithy, but valuable. I read it cover to cover in one sitting.

I've been practicing martial arts for about a year now, and while reading was able to identify certain areas where I could see how my mindset was fueling my growth, but more importantly I was able to ask myself hard questions and give myself honest answers about the ways in which I had been falling short in my training, and vowed to improve. I plan to revisit this book again next year and give myself a similar honest assessment and reality check.

A gem of wisdom regardless of the style you practice. Highly recommended.
