I'm not sure about the blurb.... it’s not what this story is about. It looks like Elliott is seducing Kyle... and that not even happened. They start a strong relationship together.
Elliott is a famous race car driver and Kyle is new on his team as mechanic.
It’s quite a physical story there is a lot of passion and lust. That could be tricky for over 650 pages but luckily they have more to tell...Their sexiness was really variously done, hot as hell and very jummie.
Elliott is so committed to Kyle... and Kyle so protective. Together they are invincible.
Both are at times a bit moody and talking isn’t their best quality.
From the start they have a strong connection. Despite the cobblestone path they have to walk their love is strong, and get stronger and stronger.
In part three I was laughing out loud because damn... together isn’t as easy as it looks.
‘If the horse and carriage could talk..... :D’
Those two are just adorable more adorkable. They have to learn a lot... both stubborn as f* thank goodness they are open for each other.

A simple but talented mechanic, Kyle Beaumont, starts his dream job for a leading motor team. Thanks to his new work, the man meets one of the best race car drivers, Elliott Judd, whom he honestly admires. However, Kyle very quickly finds out that the rumors about sexual life of this incredibly attractive and charismatic racer are all true because Elliott starts to be very interested in the new, sexy and apparently heterosexual member of his racing team. The thing is, Elliott did not plan to get involved in any kind of serious relationship but, day by day, Kyle is becoming more than just an object of his sexual fantasies.
"Buckle Up", "G-Force" and "Jump Start" are the first three volumes included in the first collection of the "Commitment" series and together they are the subject of this review. As Karen Botha takes us on a long ride in the company of her main characters, I think it's them who we should pay attention to at the very beginning. There is no doubt that our first meeting with Elliott Judd is not particularly successful, as we see him "in action" with some random chick and his later behavior doesn't change the bad first impression he has made on us. I understand that in this way the author wanted to emphasize that there is a reason why a playboy label is attached to Elliott, but I feel that she did it all too well. Elliott doesn't arouse one's sympathy and the reader needs a lot of time to get to like him and see who he really is. Although in the end we give him a chance and we start to like, respect and even admire him, it seems to me that for quite a time we are not able to trust him completely. It is a shame, because he is undoubtedly a very valuable character. However, I can assure you that when we open ourselves to him, we really begin to understand him and we are able to forgive him all his imperfections. As for Kyle Beaumont, it seems to me that we've been expecting a bit more from this character from the very beginning of the series. A guy who snagged a famous playboy should have some guts, and this is what Kyle is sometimes lacking. His creation is a series of ups and downs, as sometimes he is shown as a strong and determined person who stands firmly on his feet, while at other times he is simply a wimp. We see the proofs from the very beginning of the series, for example, when on the one hand he defends his heterosexuality without much conviction, and on the other he can fight for the person he cares about. With all this in mind, I must admit that I haven't been enchanted with the characters, but I was pleased to see how they develop, change and step by step grow up to their mutual expectations.
If there was such a thing as the "seven deadly sins" of m/m romance, showing the sexual intercourse between man and woman in the first scene of the novel would surely be in the first place. In the end, there are the reasons, and every reader has his/her own, why one reaches for homosexual romances, instead of reading these heterosexual ones, right? Unfortunately, Karen Botha decided to start her series in such and no other way, which probably doesn't have a positive impact on some readers. However, let's be honest, each of us will have a different reaction to such a scene. In my case, it started with confusion and a silent pray for not going through something similar again in these novels. However, I assure you that if you get over this unfortunate beginning, later it gets better.
Well, okay, let's forget about it and move on to the topic of the erotic scenes that definitely suit the genre more and are a really great advantage of "Buckle Up, G-Force and Jump Start Collection". Karen Botha undoubtedly knows how to build sexual tension between characters and how to dose and present to her readers various erotic scenes. The author almost literally ignites our senses with them, as they are extremely hot, even without the characters going all the way. From the very beginning, we read them with flushed faces and smiles, which shouldn't be seen by ordinary people. During sex, the characters give their all and there is no problem with some false shyness. It sometimes makes us feel that we are going beyond the romance and we are taking a step towards pure erotics. Thanks to this, it is simply impossible to resist this collection as well as the entire series.
As for the plot, the series begins quite lightly and definitely not ambitiously. Like a simple book to kill time. Great love at first sight, when one wants, the other says no, when the other wants, the first one changes his mind. However, as we move forward, it begins to get serious, sometimes even very serious, because the characters have to deal with problems that are more and more difficult to solve, such as constant fight for their relationship, struggle to forgive the relatives, facing the past they thought was already behind them or acceptance of the differences in their social status. All the time, Elliot's and Kyle's unavoidable drama of everyday life is mixed up with great joys and funny situations. And so our adventure with the "Commitment" series begins rather miserably, but later on it is getting better. Thus, although the story presented by Karen Botha doesn't really conquer our hearts, we slowly like it more and more with every volume.
As far as the action is concerned, it must be admitted that it has quite a good pace, as in every volume of this collection, there is really a lot going on, whether in the context of feelings or events. And yet I must say that we don't feel it at all, because the author doesn't write too much about each of the problems presented. She rather focuses on putting together some larger and smaller episodes, which together form each volume. Thus, reading these first three parts of the series doesn't exhaust us mentally with constant tension. However, let me point out that at the same time "Buckle Up, G-Force and Jump Start Collection" doesn't make us addicted to its world and we can't really say that we are not able to stop reading or we need to learn about the fate of the protagonists as soon as possible. In this respect, I would admit that we approach this novel rather neutrally but when we start to like this series, we really find more and more advantages in it.
In conclusion, it is not easy for me to clearly rate "Buckle Up, G-Force and Jump Start Collection", as the first three volumes of "Commitment" series have their pros and cons. On the one hand, we don't get used to the characters at once, but they do become closer to us in time. Their story doesn't conquer our hearts, but nevertheless, step by step, arouses our interest and makes us curious what else may happen. So I think it's worth giving this series a chance, because it's getting better and better with every volume and eventually it will definitely surprise us more than once.

To właśnie dzięki niej mężczyzna poznaje jednego z najlepszych kierowców rajdowych, Elliotta Judda, którego od dawna szczerze podziwiał. Kyle bardzo szybko przekonuje się jednak o prawdziwości plotek na temat życia erotycznego tego niesamowicie atrakcyjnego i charyzmatycznego rajdowca. Elliott zaczyna się bowiem interesować nowym, seksownym i podobno heteroseksualnym nabytkiem swojego zespołu rajdowego. Rzecz w tym, że Elliott nie planował angażować się w jakikolwiek związek, a tymczasem Kyle z dnia na dzień staje się dla niego kimś więcej, niż tylko obiektem seksualnych fantazji.

Jako że Karen Botha zabiera nas na dłuższą przejażdżkę w towarzystwie swoich głównych bohaterów, wydaje mi się, że to właśnie im należałoby poświęcić uwagę na samym początku. Nie ulega wątpliwości, że nasze pierwsze spotkanie z Elliottem Juddem do szczególnie udanych nie należy. Widzimy go bowiem „w akcji” z jakąś przypadkową panienką, a jego późniejsze zachowanie wcale nie poprawia złego pierwszego wrażenia jakie na nas wywarł. Rozumiem, że autorka chciała w ten sposób dobitniej podkreślić to, że nie bez powodu Elliottowi przyczepiono etykietkę playboya, jednak mam wrażenie, że poszło jej aż za dobrze. Elliott nie wzbudza bowiem naszej sympatii i czytelnik potrzebuje naprawdę sporo czasu, aby się do niego przekonać i dostrzec to, jaki jest naprawdę. Wprawdzie w końcu dajemy mu szansę i zaczynamy go lubić, szanować, a nawet podziwiać, jednak wydaje mi się, że przez długi czas nie jesteśmy w stanie całkowicie mu zaufać. To ogromna szkoda, ponieważ niewątpliwie jest on postacią bardzo wartościową. Mogę jednak zapewnić, że kiedy już się na niego otworzymy, naprawdę zaczynamy go rozumieć i jesteśmy w stanie wybaczyć mu wszystkie jego niedoskonałości. Co się zaś tyczy Kyle’a Beaumonta, wydaje mi się, że oczekiwaliśmy po nim trochę więcej już od samego początku serii. Facet, który jest w stanie usidlić sławnego playboya powinien mieć w sobie ikrę, a tej Kyle’owi raczej brakuje. Jego kreacja to pasmo wzlotów i upadków, jako że czasami zostaje ukazany jako osoba silna i zdecydowana, która stoi mocno na nogach, zaś innym razem jest po prostu mięczakiem. Dowód na to widzimy już na samym początku serii, kiedy to z jednej strony raczej bez większego przekonania broni swojej heteroseksualności, zaś z drugiej potrafi walczyć o osobę, na której mu zależy. Mając wszystko to na uwadze muszę przyznać, że bohaterowie nie oczarowali mnie, ale z przyjemnością patrzyłam na to, jak się rozwijają i krok po kroku dorastają do swoich wzajemnych oczekiwań.
Jeśli istniałoby coś takiego jak „siedem grzechów głównych” gejowskiego romansu to ukazanie stosunku płciowego damsko-męskiego w pierwszej scenie powieści na pewno znalazłoby się na pierwszym miejscu. W końcu z jakiegoś powodu, nieważne jakiego, gdyż każdy czytelnik ma swój, sięgamy po romanse homoseksualne, zamiast zabrać się za czytanie tych heteroseksualnych, prawda? Niestety Karen Botha pozwoliła sobie na taki, a nie inny początek swojej serii, co raczej nie nastraja czytelnika pozytywnie. Bądźmy jednak szczerzy, każdy z nas inaczej ustosunkuje się do takiej sceny. W moim przypadku zaczęło się od dezorientacji i wewnętrznego błagania, abym nie musiała przechodzić więcej przez coś podobnego. Zapewniam jednak, że jeśli przebolejecie ten nieszczęsny początek, później jest już łatwiej.
No ale dobrze, przymknijmy na to oko i przejdźmy dalej, do zdecydowanie bardziej pasujących do gatunku scen erotycznych, jako że to właśnie one są naprawdę dużą zaletą „Buckle Up, G-Force and Jump Start Collection”. Karen Botha bez wątpienia wie w jaki sposób budować seksualne napięcie między bohaterami oraz jak dawkować i zaprezentować swoim czytelnikom rozmaite sceny erotyczne. Autorka niemal dosłownie rozpala nimi nasze zmysły, jako że są naprawdę bardzo gorące, nawet bez „zaliczenia ostatniej bazy”. Od samego początku czytamy je z gorącymi wypiekami na twarzy i uśmiechami, których lepiej nie pokazywać publicznie. Podczas seksu bohaterowie dają bowiem z siebie wszystko i nie ma tu mowy o jakiejś fałszywej wstydliwości. To sprawia, że czasami mamy wrażenie, że wychodzimy poza ramy romansu i czynimy krok w stronę czystej erotyki. Dzięki temu naprawdę nie sposób oprzeć się tej kolekcji, jak i całej serii.
Co się zaś tyczy fabuły, seria zaczyna się raczej mało ambitnie i dosyć lekko. Ot, jak takie czytadło dla zabicia czasu. Wielka miłość w przeciągu chwili, gdy jeden chce, drugi mówi nie, gdy drugi chce, ten pierwszy zmienia zdanie. W miarę jak posuwamy się jednak do przodu, zaczyna robić się poważniej, a miejscami nawet bardzo poważnie. Bohaterowie muszą bowiem radzić sobie z coraz to trudniejszymi do rozwiązania problemami, jak chociażby bezustanna walka o związek, przebaczenie bliskim, ponowne zmierzenie się z życiem, które myśleli, że zostawili już za sobą, czy też akceptacja różnic statusu społecznego. Niemożliwe do uniknięcia dramaty codziennego życia Elliota i Kyle’a mieszają się przez cały czas z wielkimi radościami i zabawnymi sytuacjami. Nasza przygoda z serią „Commitment” zaczyna się więc niepozornie, ale później jest coraz lepiej. Tym samym przedstawiona przez Karen Bothę historia chociaż nie zwala z nóg, to jednak coraz bardziej nam się podoba.
Jeśli zaś chodzi o akcję to trzeba przyznać, że ma ona całkiem dobre tempo, jako że w każdej części wchodzącej w skład tej kolekcji dzieje się naprawdę dużo, czy to w kontekście uczuć, czy wydarzeń. A jednak muszę przyznać, że zupełnie się tego nie odczuwa, ponieważ autorka nie rozpisuje się jakoś przesadnie na temat każdego z przedstawionych problemów. Skupia się raczej na dodaniu do siebie większych i mniejszych epizodów, które razem tworzą każdy z tomów. Tym samym lektura tych trzech pierwszych części serii nie wymęcza nas psychicznie ciągłym napięciem. Pozwolę sobie jednak zaznaczyć, że jednocześnie „Buckle Up, G-Force and Jump Start Collection” nie wciąga nas w swój świat na tyle, abyśmy nie mogli przerwać czytania i musieli jak najszybciej poznać dalsze losy bohaterów. Powiedziałabym, że pod tym względem podchodzimy do niej raczej neutralnie. Mimo wszystko, kiedy już zaczniemy tę serię lubić to naprawdę znajdujemy w niej coraz więcej plusów.
Podsumowując, nie łatwo jest mi jednoznacznie ocenić „Buckle Up, G-Force and Jump Start Collection”, jako że te trzy pierwsze tomy „Commitment” mają swoje wzloty i upadki. Z jednej strony nie od razu przyzwyczajamy się do bohaterów, jednak z czasem stają się nam bliżsi. Ich historia nie podbija naszych serc, ale jednak krok po kroku rozbudza nasze zainteresowanie i sprawia, że jesteśmy ciekawi, co jeszcze może się wydarzyć. Myślę więc, że warto dać szansę tej serii, ponieważ z tomu na tom robi się coraz lepsza i ostatecznie na pewno jeszcze nie raz nas zaskoczy.

Nie ulega wątpliwości, że nasze pierwsze spotkanie z Elliottem Juddem do szczególnie udanych nie należy. Widzimy go bowiem „w akcji” z jakąś przypadkową panienką, a jego późniejsze zachowanie wcale nie poprawia złego pierwszego wrażenia jakie na nas wywarł. Rozumiem, że autorka chciała w ten sposób dobitniej podkreślić to, że nie bez powodu Elliottowi przyczepiono etykietkę playboya, jednak mam wrażenie, że poszło jej aż za dobrze. Elliott nie wzbudza bowiem naszej sympatii i czytelnik potrzebuje naprawdę sporo czasu, aby się do niego przekonać i dostrzec to, jaki jest naprawdę. Wprawdzie w końcu dajemy mu szansę i zaczynamy go lubić, szanować, a nawet podziwiać, jednak wydaje mi się, że przez długi czas nie jesteśmy w stanie całkowicie mu zaufać. To ogromna szkoda, ponieważ niewątpliwie jest on postacią bardzo wartościową. Mogę jednak zapewnić, że kiedy już się na niego otworzymy, naprawdę zaczynamy go rozumieć i jesteśmy w stanie wybaczyć mu wszystkie jego niedoskonałości. Co się zaś tyczy Kyle’a Beaumonta, wydaje mi się, że oczekiwaliśmy po nim trochę więcej już od samego początku serii. Facet, który jest w stanie usidlić sławnego playboya powinien mieć w sobie ikrę, a tej Kyle’owi raczej brakuje. Jego kreacja to pasmo wzlotów i upadków, jako że czasami zostaje ukazany jako osoba silna i zdecydowana, która stoi mocno na nogach, zaś innym razem jest po prostu mięczakiem. Dowód na to widzimy już na samym początku serii, kiedy to z jednej strony raczej bez większego przekonania broni swojej heteroseksualności, zaś z drugiej potrafi walczyć o osobę, na której mu zależy. Mając wszystko to na uwadze muszę przyznać, że bohaterowie nie oczarowali mnie, ale z przyjemnością patrzyłam na to, jak się rozwijają i krok po kroku dorastają do swoich wzajemnych oczekiwań.
Jeśli istniałoby coś takiego jak „siedem grzechów głównych” gejowskiego romansu to ukazanie stosunku płciowego damsko-męskiego w pierwszej scenie powieści na pewno znalazłoby się na pierwszym miejscu. W końcu z jakiegoś powodu, nieważne jakiego, gdyż każdy czytelnik ma swój, sięgamy po romanse homoseksualne, zamiast zabrać się za czytanie tych heteroseksualnych, prawda? Niestety Karen Botha pozwoliła sobie na taki, a nie inny początek swojej serii, co raczej nie nastraja czytelnika pozytywnie. Bądźmy jednak szczerzy, każdy z nas inaczej ustosunkuje się do takiej sceny. W moim przypadku zaczęło się od dezorientacji i wewnętrznego błagania, abym nie musiała przechodzić więcej przez coś podobnego. Zapewniam jednak, że jeśli przebolejecie ten nieszczęsny początek, później jest już łatwiej.
No ale dobrze, przymknijmy na to oko i przejdźmy dalej, do zdecydowanie bardziej pasujących do gatunku scen erotycznych, jako że to właśnie one są naprawdę dużą zaletą „Buckle Up, G-Force and Jump Start Collection”. Karen Botha bez wątpienia wie w jaki sposób budować seksualne napięcie między bohaterami oraz jak dawkować i zaprezentować swoim czytelnikom rozmaite sceny erotyczne. Autorka niemal dosłownie rozpala nimi nasze zmysły, jako że są naprawdę bardzo gorące, nawet bez „zaliczenia ostatniej bazy”. Od samego początku czytamy je z gorącymi wypiekami na twarzy i uśmiechami, których lepiej nie pokazywać publicznie. Podczas seksu bohaterowie dają bowiem z siebie wszystko i nie ma tu mowy o jakiejś fałszywej wstydliwości. To sprawia, że czasami mamy wrażenie, że wychodzimy poza ramy romansu i czynimy krok w stronę czystej erotyki. Dzięki temu naprawdę nie sposób oprzeć się tej kolekcji, jak i całej serii.
Co się zaś tyczy fabuły, seria zaczyna się raczej mało ambitnie i dosyć lekko. Ot, jak takie czytadło dla zabicia czasu. Wielka miłość w przeciągu chwili, gdy jeden chce, drugi mówi nie, gdy drugi chce, ten pierwszy zmienia zdanie. W miarę jak posuwamy się jednak do przodu, zaczyna robić się poważniej, a miejscami nawet bardzo poważnie. Bohaterowie muszą bowiem radzić sobie z coraz to trudniejszymi do rozwiązania problemami, jak chociażby bezustanna walka o związek, przebaczenie bliskim, ponowne zmierzenie się z życiem, które myśleli, że zostawili już za sobą, czy też akceptacja różnic statusu społecznego. Niemożliwe do uniknięcia dramaty codziennego życia Elliota i Kyle’a mieszają się przez cały czas z wielkimi radościami i zabawnymi sytuacjami. Nasza przygoda z serią „Commitment” zaczyna się więc niepozornie, ale później jest coraz lepiej. Tym samym przedstawiona przez Karen Bothę historia chociaż nie zwala z nóg, to jednak coraz bardziej nam się podoba.
Jeśli zaś chodzi o akcję to trzeba przyznać, że ma ona całkiem dobre tempo, jako że w każdej części wchodzącej w skład tej kolekcji dzieje się naprawdę dużo, czy to w kontekście uczuć, czy wydarzeń. A jednak muszę przyznać, że zupełnie się tego nie odczuwa, ponieważ autorka nie rozpisuje się jakoś przesadnie na temat każdego z przedstawionych problemów. Skupia się raczej na dodaniu do siebie większych i mniejszych epizodów, które razem tworzą każdy z tomów. Tym samym lektura tych trzech pierwszych części serii nie wymęcza nas psychicznie ciągłym napięciem. Pozwolę sobie jednak zaznaczyć, że jednocześnie „Buckle Up, G-Force and Jump Start Collection” nie wciąga nas w swój świat na tyle, abyśmy nie mogli przerwać czytania i musieli jak najszybciej poznać dalsze losy bohaterów. Powiedziałabym, że pod tym względem podchodzimy do niej raczej neutralnie. Mimo wszystko, kiedy już zaczniemy tę serię lubić to naprawdę znajdujemy w niej coraz więcej plusów.
Podsumowując, nie łatwo jest mi jednoznacznie ocenić „Buckle Up, G-Force and Jump Start Collection”, jako że te trzy pierwsze tomy „Commitment” mają swoje wzloty i upadki. Z jednej strony nie od razu przyzwyczajamy się do bohaterów, jednak z czasem stają się nam bliżsi. Ich historia nie podbija naszych serc, ale jednak krok po kroku rozbudza nasze zainteresowanie i sprawia, że jesteśmy ciekawi, co jeszcze może się wydarzyć. Myślę więc, że warto dać szansę tej serii, ponieważ z tomu na tom robi się coraz lepsza i ostatecznie na pewno jeszcze nie raz nas zaskoczy.

Elliott is a famous race car driver. I wasn't sure I was going to like him at first, but he managed to redeem himself with his commitment to Kyle. Kyle is a new mechanic on Elliott's team. These two were smoking hot together. A great boxed set that keeps you entertained til the end.

This book had me totally hooked from the first page. I really didn’t think that I would like Elliott from the description but I’ve got to say I really liked him. Yes he does come across as a big headed prat at first but I really loved how he didn’t give up on his pursuit of Kyle. Kyle is such a sweetheart I just adored him right away, he was so down to earth and didn’t let Elliott’s fame faze him. I really can’t wait to read book 4 to find out what happens in the next chapter of their life together and if Elliott’s side business will come back to bite him where it hurts.
