~Chucky and Chrissy was well on their way once they were able to get Chrissy’s illness under control. Cola and Beany became a common force behind their relationship as Chucky built a relationship individually with each personality. He had everything a man needed in one woman, a wife, a sex kitten, and a gangster bitch. ~ Now running the west side of Detroit and The Lion’s Den which was a gift from his connect, The Notorious Luke “Battle” Kent, for his honesty, Chucky and Chrissy was a force to be reckoned with. Living the fabulous life of a Kingpin, what could possibly go wrong? Everything. Battle introduced his son, Sly, to the game and Chucky takes him under his wing. Against Chrissy’s wishes, she cautioned him about her suspicion of Sly’s intentions that started to cause a strain in their marriage. Thinking Chucky was out of the picture when he became hospitalized for a suspicious overdose, Sly executed a scheme to take over Chucky’s territory, The Lion’s Den and even his wife. He would soon regret the day he under estimated the love and loyalty that Chrissy has for her husband and incorporated her in his little ploy of treason.
Behind Every Boss there’s a Bae [Box Set] by Phillis Forrest: From the start this book grabs you and keeps your eyes open and your fingers turning the pages. I love that Phillis (author) takes her time and introduces the key player. As you read you will feel a connection to all of them. You get the first sign of trouble early in the book and you also see two young people fall in love. Money and Cortez meet at a very young age the problem is Cortez and Sinister see Money at the same time. Sinister think Money should be his. This thought goes on all thought out the book. It is also what causes all of the trouble. This book follows Money’s life than it follows her Daughter Chrissy’s life. The plot is just mind blowing. Just when you think the bad guy is gone and they can live happily ever after here comes another snake. This was a great read. Only think I didn’t like is you couldn’t gage, how much time had passed as you read. This by no means takes away from this book. I am now a Phillis Forrest fan for life.
This book deserved every star it got and then some. The drama and treachery was flowing through the pages faster than I could turn them. Everyone wanted to be the HNIC, and they didn't care who they crossed. Sinister was a thorn in everyone's side. He thought the world should worship the ground he walks on. His father corrupted his mind at a young age, and that sent him on a path of destruction. Sly was the weakest link. He manipulated Chucky, but Beany turned around and did the same thing to him. I could keep going, but I want you to read for yourself. I'm hoping part 3 is in its final stages getting ready to be released.
Wow, what a book. This book was so good it had everything that you could possible think of in it. I was hooked from the beginning, this book entails the trials and tribulations a women goes through to be that “Ride or Die” Chick for her man. The plots were so real life that this book should be made into a movie. I’m hoping that true love will conquer all and I’m hoping that Chrissy and Chucky will have their happy ending.
Damn... this book was crazy. Chrissy with 3 different personalities was a bit much, but this author worked these characters magically. I really enjoyed reading this series, but now I want to know whatever happened to Chucky, Hitman, Dirty and even Battle. Who ended up coming out on the winning end? This series was a 5 star story and I look to read more from this author.
This well written drama was just that drama filled and continuous action the characters was well defined and entertaining...the STORYLINE was entertaining and imaginative...I love the 3sisters lol flow was no joke ...how these crazy azz men was the problem...Harold was psychotic and I'm glad he got knock but he's still up to his dirty ways...hubby still in hospital hoping in next part he comes back but that Sly is right where he belongs ....OUT FREAKING STANDING
First, cudos to my friend Phyllis! The book was a little hard to read to me as I don’t speak ghetto…therefore, I had to mentally stop correcting the grammar. Lol! The story draws you in from the beginning and holds you hostage. Takes you on a trip into another world. Love and miss you Phyllis!
This story took u through the timeline of different characters. I loved the fact that it was set in my hometown of Detroit. There was a lot of graphic material and some grammatical errors. The story took u on a roller coaster ride that left me wanting to read more.
This is absolutely a must read! It will have you on the edge of your seat wondering what's gonna happen next! I loved the idea of Chrissy, Cola, and Beany.......That Cola was a force to be reckoned with! Looking forward to the next installment......
I couldn't stop reading. I was literally on edge of my seat. I loved it. I was upset at the end because I wanted to know what happened.I can't wait for part 3.
