A collection of gripping photographs traces the recent history of South African women and their struggles against apartheid, from the 1940s bus boycotts to Nelson Mandela's release in 1990.
This book have a very strong black and white images from Africans well as a powerful story behind it. This book shows apartheid in South Africa, women have been at the forefront of the fight to abolish it. This is a book worth reading.
A very beautiful read, beautiful black and white photographs that reminded me intensely of what I loved about South Africa while living there. The detailed passages where a good touch, I would have preferred more photographs and less reading passages but I did learn a lot. A solid 4*
