Audible format.
This book was very good and I was very interested in the premise of an islamic Antichrist. The way the author, Clifford T. Wellman Jr. illustrates the massive attacks on the US was very plausible and highly disturbing. Loved how the characters in the story were studying the Bible trying to understand and be prepared. The AI narration was simply awful. I will have read the remaining books on kindle.

Believable and immediate
Well researched Biblically, believable and likable characters and frighteningly realistic portrayal of the anti-Christ’s wave of destruction and terror. I really like the subtle but constant way the characters rely on their Christian faith for strength to surmount their challenges.

I am a huge fan of apocalyptic "end of days" Christian fiction and really wanted to love this book. While it wasn't horrible, for me it was only okay.
- There were so many POVs throughout the book (I didn't count them but easily 20 or more different POVs in the entire book). It made it feel like a very convoluted and disjointed read. I was very interested in the main character POVs, but with time I found myself totally skimming over all the jumps to POV in the different cities around the world because they didn't accomplish anything or add anything to the story. I can understand that the author wanted to show what was happening all over the world, but the constant POV jumping just muddled the storytelling. I think it would have been more effective to see the happenings in the world through the main characters' POV (internet, television, news reporting, or it happening directly to them, etc) rather than jumping to so many POVs that, for me, pulled me out of the story rather than pulled me in.
- The writing style was a bit pedestrian and lackluster and felt extremely amateur. The author can for sure tell a great story, but the writing itself could use a lot of polishing. Man, if the author could learn some tips to be a better creative writer in the technical sense, he would have the potential to be a fantastic author.
-The budding romance between the two characters was so jarring and out of place in this type of story. I don't even recall the character names because the romance didn't make any sense in the story, so I skipped over all those parts. In the chaos of Revelation unfolding onto the world, a budding romance just didn't make much sense...LOL For me, that part of the story was unnecessary fluff that could have been omitted.
-For readers who are sensitive to profanity, be aware that there was one scene where one of the bad guys called someone a b***h (I skimmed the book so much through the irrelevant POV jumps, so there could be more profanity that I missed). Profanity really annoys me in Christian fiction. We Christian readers read books to shield ourselves from the morally objectionable aspects that infects secular fiction these days, like profanity and sexual themes. For me it is very off-putting when CF authors use blatant profanity, even from non-believing characters. The Bible in Ephesians is clear that no unwholesome talk is to come out of a Christian's mouth, so profanity should NEVER have a place in Christian fiction. There are effective ways to indicate profanity without actually subjecting readers to it. There were other words (ex: hell) that could be construed by some readers as profanities but given the context in which they were used, they weren't actually profanities, so I didn't count those. There was also a lot of slang words (crap, etc), but I can handle slang words. I don't count slang as profanity.
-Another thing that slowed down the story was the two characters who were reading end-times scripture trying to interpret what it meant before it happened. This REALLY slowed down the story and pulled me out of it. Instead of them trying to interpret it and suddenly "getting it" and understanding it and knowing with 100% certainty that they were correct in their interpretation, it would have been much more interesting for them to gain understanding of scripture as it unfolded around them in real time, you know, especially given that this is a Revelation-Unfolding-Before-Us type of story. Maybe that's how it will unfold eventually through the series but written the way it was in this book gave it a pretentious "know-it-all" kind of feel to that part of the story and the two characters. I didn't want to know what the characters' INTERPRETATION of end-time scripture was, I wanted to watch it unfold and come to life around them. Showing vs telling is what makes a story come alive to readers in a magnificent and compelling way.
-Another thing I wasn't sure of was whether or not the rapture has taken place at this point in the story because the author never addresses is. I can have an open mind about people's differing doctrinal beliefs when it comes to end-times events, but my belief is that by the time the Tribulation events begin, the rapture has already happened, so it would have been nice to know if the rapture has happened at this point in the book or not. Since there's no mention of it, I wonder if the author has a post-Trib rapture belief.
Since it was an okay read, and I neither loved it nor hated it, I'll give it three stars. I know how hard authors work on books, so I hate to give critical reviews, but if the author reads this, maybe he will take it as constructive criticism and not blatant negativity or silly reader nitpicking.
While the amateur writing style would, unfortunately, not prompt me to recommend it to my friends or family, I probably will read the next book in the series at some point just to see if the writing style and method of telling the story improves.

I'd say this is a pass.
Although I enjoy apocalyptic stories, especially those that follow the Vible, I have issues with this one.
1. The author professes to be a Christian but the foul language in the book shows a different fruit.
2. The story jumps around as LOT making it seem disjointed.
3. Grammatical errors.
I managed to make it to 85% but gave up. It became too frenetic and disjointed jumping all over.

Interesting viewpoint
This novel shared me cause it seems so realistic. Very well written and great characters. No notices editing or grammar errors. Seems like a bit different than what I have read before.

Fantastic
Thought the story line was fantasy! Loved all the references and cross-referencing. Scary as it is you made it make sense. Starting Book 2 and can't wait for Book 3. Great job! Thank you!!

🖋️ I enjoyed this Bible- and current events-inspired novel, not only for the interesting plot, but also for the smooth and intelligent writing style by AUTHOR. I did find the phrase “they got pregnant” strange when referring to a husband and wife. Last I checked, men cannot become pregnant; and yeah, that phrase has been asserted about for at least thirty years now— And it still is weird.

compelling drama of unfolding end times
I’ve read many series about the end times and from the groundwork laid in this first book of the series, I’m sure this will be one of the best yet. Starting with various unrelated story lines, I wondered at first where the author was going but he expertly wove them together as the tension mounted and the scriptures came to life. I must comment that he digs deep in various end times views and though I am a life time Bible reader, much went beyond my previous understanding. The story has enlightened, disturbed and challenged me to be more attentive to prophecy and current events. I’m excited to finish this series.

This review is on the whole (6book) series. This was a very enlightening and inspirational read. I’ve read quite a few books over the last 50 years about Revelation and the end times since “ The Late Great Planet Earth (Hal Lindsey) and this book interprets and makes it very clear! Written like a novel , the characters and events make it more relatable and easier to understand, not to mention the spiritual advice and encouragement..As a lifelong Christian , this book strengthened my faith and definitely solidified it. Would definitely recommend this book to anyone, regardless of your faith or beliefs, it might be a game changer! Thank you Clifford

I really tried...
I really tried to get into this book, as I love this genre. There came a point where new characters popped up with each new chapter and I as unable to keep up. Maybe I was distracted, I just felt like I needed to keep a characters list to figure out who all the people were and how they fit into the story.

I've read the entire series because it is so good, you cannot put it down. Want something exciting, and inspiring to read? Pick up this book and this series. It will keep you entertained and probably teach you a few things you did not know about the end times. Characters are very relatable. You'll love this series!!

Enjoyed the story very much
Both the story and the biblical commentary were very enjoyable. The author tied biblical prophecies together in a very believable and entertaining way. Well done! I will continue reading the series.

Its not for me. I really enjoy apocalyptic and posts apocalyptic books usually
I do not plan to continue this series. It started out great and then became just another thing to bash people who have different political opinions than oneself. That was not what I expected out of this book. Then again it is considered Christian fiction, and that is normally what Christians do. They force their opinions down your throat and bash people. I'm kind of disappointed that I came away from my other post apocalyptic novels and sit through the first of this series. It had a lot of potential but its too political. If politics were used in a more effective way or to describe a character, it would have been fine. If you are the rare Trump supporter who reads and calls everyone else names, this will be a good series for you. However I am not but I try my best to go into books with an open mind and put politics aside. After you get about halfway through the book, they start the name calling and putting people down. I'm done right now. There's enough of that in the world already. Now back to my much better, Kyla Stone novels.

This book was a bit harder to read, but it might have been because I got sick when I started it. Who knows, but it did make for some strange dreams.
Through the whole book we are introduced to many characters and follow them on their journey. Some seem more important than others, but all intersect in some way. A complaint from another reviewer said that Chris seemed to have the answers instantly. My answer would be that he was granted the understanding to the questions he was asking. The problem with understanding the book of Revelations is that St John wrote the same thing three times. The Seven Seals, the Seven Bowls and the Seven Trumpets are the same events written over again until the coming of Jesus. I'm wondering how many end of the world writers realize this?

I enjoy apocalyptic reads. I don’t know why, I just do. It could be viral related, zombies, nature, etc... doesn’t matter. They’re just fun and interesting to me. As a Christian though, it’s really fun to read end time prophecy fiction. I believe it will happen someday so it’s neat to read people’s ideas on how it’ll happen.
While Wellmans first book in this series is good, I feel like sometimes it was a little long in the tooth. Also not a fan of cussing in a Christian book. It was minimal, and I know people cuss all the time, but still not a fan of it.

Loved this 6 book series! Really helps you imagine how the end of this age can culminate through the lives of the series characters. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants a clearer understanding of the book of revelation. I really appreciate how the author references scripture in each chapter, to ground the experiences of his characters and show in practical ways how bible prophesy can play out. The sixth book of the series even goes into the millennial reign...which has always been a challenge to relate to for me. I highly recommend each book in the series!

Incredible learning tool!
Mr. Wellman seems to have done intensive research into the Bible and with a thorough study of history also, has put his knowledge into a book that tells his vision of the end times. As I look around me at the very real drama that we are living with Covid, rioting in the major cities, and an election around the corner I am with the author in thinking that Jesus’ return could be imminent.

Wow, Once you start this book you will not out of down!
I fully recommend this book. Great character building. I love how the authors knowledge of the bible is weaved into the story. Although this is fiction, the story is very real. I think we all need to prepare for the coming of Jesus. This book gives you an idea of what to expect and how to prepare you for the end of times. I am downloading the second book now!

The Beginning
This great KU library selection follows the lives of a small group of friends who grew up together, scattered when they became adults, but have kept in touch. The author has written a thought provoking fictional story of the group as they navigate the events of the beginnings of the prophesied end times. I am looking forward to the next book, which I've already borrowed on KU.

Excellent Book!
I very much enjoyed reading this first book in “The Road to Revelation” series. The description of the politics in the US during 2016, seemed to be accurate. Although the events in “The Beginning” didn’t actually take place, the stage was set and the happenings since January 2021 have all come together to facilitate the death of our great nation. I can’t wait to begin Book 2!

Compelling story
I was interested when I read the book cover. This story has good character development. You are invested in the lives of the main characters. The story of the end times is dramatic and it is easy to see possible scenarios in our current world.. I liked the mild debate over scriptures between Ford and Sam.
There are many who debate the end times. Regardless of your belief, this makes a great read.

Good teaching, good reading
I chose to read The Road to Revelation, book one because I have been a student of End Times literature for many years. I appreciate the authors use of Biblical references, and then provided other studies in the bibliography for readers who choose to dig deeper. Can't wait to start Book 2.

Wow this book really had me hooked, i was really looking up the bible verses that are in here, told through fictional characters. Turns out those scriptures verses i did the comparisons it turned out to be true and even did study notes on it. This could really happen in the future so we have to be ready at all times for what is to come this is part of a series and im going to read the next book

Great Christian reading
I really enjoyed the 1st book in the series. I immediately downloaded the second book. While there are few typographical errors, the work of the author and the biblically correct scriptural references, more than overcome that small flaw. I highly recommend this book and th series.
I really enjoyed the 1st book in the series. I immediately downloaded the second book. While there are few typographical errors, the work of the author and the biblically correct scriptural references, more than overcome that small flaw. I highly recommend this book and th series.
