This is the first book I've read from this author and I liked it. Although I enjoyed reading it, I can't give it a solid 5 stars because I was a bit thrown off by their first time together - that one I didn't like 'cause Lucas gave me the impression that he's selfish in that area. As mentioned, they didn't even kiss, but just went straight to it.
That's the only thing I didn't like and their first few times together but it got better over time (as it should).
Other than that, I was captivated by the story; it helps that the location was picturesque. I felt the calm and peace Emma felt while she was appreciating God's creation. I'm a wine drinker and their plans for the newly-opened Restaurant and Inn with the vineyard sounds appealing to me.
In one of their getaways, Emma meets Eric and little did she know that her life would take a turn. Eric is an acquaintance with the same business and a womanizer, but underneath that attitude is a different story. He really did an asshole thing by hitting on Emma in front of Lucas. That Emma's dreams took a backseat because of what she's feeling for Lucas says a lot. She got sidetracked, but I applaud her for taking the chance to follow her dreams.
With regard to what happens after, which is Emma taking the offer to be Eric's partner in a new restaurant, I found that Lucas's character was a bit weak because he didn't have faith. He is an all-or-nothing guy and he didn't give a long-distance relationship a try because he was blinded by his unfounded jealousy towards Eric. Both of them were miserable for it.
Emma realized that even after the success, she still needs Lucas but one could only be rejected so many times before finally giving up. I'm glad in this case Lucas decided to man up and claim her back.

This intense story is heartbreaking and addictive. Oozing raw emotions, it's impossible to read this narrative and not be affected by the storyline and the down-to-earth characters as they struggle to find a way to be together. The roller coaster of emotions experienced by Lucas and Emma is so distressing that you have to continue reading and hoping that everything will work out for these two wonderful individuals. I found this book very difficult to put down. Great, Great Story!!!
For honest review. Emma is going for a job at Reid vineyard in lucas 's restaurant . This is such a remarkable love story that becomes sad I can't wait for more please 10 stars.Emma just wants to have her dreams and Lucas ,but when Lucas finds out what her dream was, Eric gives her the opportunity for her dreams. only realizing she lost the man she needed. can't wait for Eric story. Awesome
I enjoyed this story, but not the ending. So far I have only read book one in the series, but I definitely need to read the others to find out what happens. It's a shame there was no romance involved, even though there were feelings by both Emma and Lucas.
