Dylan Dosi, lead singer of a famous rock band, battles with his personal demons — an internal battle of hurricane proportions that threaten to overtake him at any given moment. Untrusting, hyper-aware, and always on edge, Dyl keeps people at arm's length while giving the appearance that everything is okay.
Oswald ‘Oz’ Walter is a graphic artist who battles his own internal tempests — ones that cause him to lash out at the most unexpected times. In a constant push/pull struggle within him, Oz stays distanced from people yet craves their company as much as he fears it.
When their individual perceptions can cause the two men to see things in different lights, can Dylan and Oz learn to trust each other? Or will they fall prey to their own self-fulfilling prophecies when yet again no one ever stays?

This book contains realistic detailed depictions of mental illnesses as well as portraying BDSM and a D/s lifestyle.
T.N. Nova is an author of gay fiction and romance. Stories include everything from paranormal to contemporary, light and fluffy to dark or angsty as well as kinky. All having hot, steamy scenes. He enjoys telling stories which explore the relationships, emotions, and feelings of men in love.
Having been writing since a young age, T.N. always seems to have plots surfacing at the most random time. Music, books, art, and writing have always played a huge part in his life. Even from a young age, T.N. was creating stories, dabbling in art and music as well as enjoying reading. His not so guilty pleasures are Minecraft, music, geeky stuff, diet Dr. Pepper, and all things Thor and Loki.
T.N. currently resides in the desert southwest United States. He came out publicly as trans male gender queer and gender fluid in December 2018.
The part of him that whimpered at the idea of making decisions, that cringed away from taking risks and living life, wanted Dylan to just fucking do it. It wanted the man to take charge and step inside Oz’s boundaries, to make himself at home there and shatter any and everything he wanted to.
💁The main focus of this book is mental illness..Dylan and Oz(Two guys, each dealing with different mental illnesses, who met coincidentally at a gig where Dylan's band was performing), decide to give a relationship a try. This is despite the various roadblocks, potholes, hills and valleys they are bound to encounter on the way to finding what each of them need to ease the pain they go through daily while coping with the cards life has dealt them... I admired the fact that the authors wrote against the stereotype that the Dom is always the bigger and older one.💞
I always want to read and learn more about mental illness, and the fact that the authors of the book have actually struggled with it makes it more authentic, I think.☺️
🌼😭👏Oz and Dylan were so beautiful👬...They fit like two pieces of a puzzle🔐... The chemistry between them took my breath away🔥... And I really really loved this book!!!🔐💏💜🌼
Un tema, quello delle disabilità mentali, che non viene affrontato così spesso. Questo romanzo fa capire come i comportamenti e le scelte – anche quelle più semplici e banali – possono diventare insormontabili quando la mente si ritrova imprigionata.
Don't Let Go: Broken Boys #1 (ARC) was graciously provided to me by the authors for an honest review.
"Through the Rain Comes the Sun.."
Having recently discovered the upcoming release of a new book from an author who I had read before, I looked forward to reading this new book as well. A new book that while it's theme is a delicate and sensitive one, it's a book that I went into wholeheartedly and for many different reasons. The first one being, well...clearly due to its authors. The second reason being, due to its theme, as it is one that is a close and personal one for me, as its storyline is one of mental illness. Because of this, I readily went into this new read with an open mind, an open heart, and, an open soul. As one of the reasons for actual reading, speaking for this reader, is for escapism, there is a strong possibility that there exists other readers who do it for the same reason. Therefore, I predict that Don't Let Go will be one of those books that will enlighten, soothe, as well as nurture many different readers. So..this book. THIS BOOK will undoubtedly be a huge and unexpected new read.
Don't Let Go by T.N. Nova and R. Phoenix is undeniably an absolutely incredible story that is written with such breathtakingly tangible words that managed to languidly ooze right into this readers soul, as it is a story heavily laden with moments of raw, gripping, heart-breaking, soul-searching, desperate, yet beautifully loving and necessary moments as well. It is a story that focuses on the beginnings of a healing journey of two men who valiantly attempt to function through life as they battle their own demons, as they desperately cling to the only saving grace that surprisingly enables each man to begin to welcome their own source of light. The story is one that enables the reader to share times of raw, emotional, and realistic moments that the two intrinsically strong, wonderful, nurturing, dedicated main characters battle with on a daily basis, as mental illness is something that is almost always present, and, as these two men discover ways of adjusting to be able to function through life, each serves just as much as a role model for other individuals who search for ways to rise above such challenges.
Dylan Dossi and Oz Walter are two individuals who, while appear to be different, are actually quite the same. As each battle their own demons, for very different reasons, each appears to be the ying to the other's yang. Each serving as almost like that necessary soothing, comforting, warm blanket that they both crave and desperately need to be able to claim that lighted, peaceful, calming aura. The story was brilliantly written as the emotional times of both characters seemed to seep right through the monitor (or page) as Dylan and Oz braved each of these moments. As the beginning of this plot of this particular storyline was pretty smooth, it was successfully able to incorporate a well-rounded viewpoint of mental illness, not only through the actual characters, but also through the secondary characters as well, who I already love to pieces. Through this story, the writing enabled this reader to understand, sympathize, empathize, and equally yearn for the calming peace the main characters had so desired. I absolutely adore Dylan and Oz and as a result of this read of the beginnings of their journey through dark, hopeless, and desperate moments, I found myself immersed within a wave of heartfelt emotions, ranging from sympathy to happiness to sadness to giddiness to absolute hopefulness.
Don't Let Go is one powerful and necessary story about mental illness. It allows the reader to become one within the world of those who battle to simply function on a daily basis. Battling the need for normalcy is a very difficult one as there is almost a constant battle between wanting to and being able to, and, as this reader went through a wide range of emotions, it was a joy to see both Dylan and Oz successfully reach their light and be able to soak it in with that one person who is able to understand, nurture, and guide the other towards more times of peace. That being said, while there does exist various typos, and a need for some character and setting development, this story as a whole outweighed those glitches, as the light of this story was able to outshine any of the present glitches.
Don't Let Go is a dark and hopeful story that while it does contain some difficult-to-read moments, it also contains great characters, and, sizzling, humorous moments as well. It's plot being so detailed and varied enables multiple and distinct interweaving parts to be incredibly done. I had to sit back, at times, in order to allow each moment to settle, thereby enabling their coherent and logical connections to be made, as their detailed and deep meanings had stopped me in my tracks and had amazed me. I absolutely loved it, and, eagerly await more of this series..:)
*****10+stars*****...To read a book where both MC's seem to be broken can really leave you either wanting more or running in the opposite direction....This will leave you wanting more....Dylan and Oz though broken are perfect for each other....They both suffer from similar and different problems but I think they will both be strong together....I love R Phoenix's books and her collaberation with TN Nova was just perfect. I can see how Dylan wants to protect Oz and Oz wants to be who he is for Dylan. I also loves how Oz calls Dylan Dyl.....They are two strong characters who struggle through life and when they get together they are just perfect...I really want more and can't wait for another book on these two x
I can't recommend this book enough. I don't like to give away plots in my reviews but what I will tell you is that this book will tear you up bit as you read it. I am not a crier and it almost made me cry a few times. Both MC have different mental health problems and the authors really have put their selves into this work. One of the things I really like about MM books is that there is no "damsel in distress" to be rescued. The MC are more likely to rescue each other and that has never been truer than in this book. Throw in a little light BDSM action and just plain sweet and endearing characters and it's a total win!
Where on earth do I start? This book truly hit home for me on so many levels. It broke my heart to see Dylan and Oz’s story unfold. The authors broke my heart and put it back together again. The characters Dylan and Oz have so much depth, that you can truly feel their pain and anguish. It covers a lot of mental health aspects in a very eye opening way. It helps to remind you that no 2 people with the same mental health issue, will be the same. It is very clear that both authors have put their heart and soul into this book, it bleeds through in the words that jump off the page. I can not recommend this book enough, and hope there will be more to come. Just bring tissues to read it!!
I'm not going to lie, reading this book is not easy. It hurts, a lot. You can feel how these authors bled the words on the page. These characters aren't just fiction, but they represent the two amazing women who wrote them, these authors gave us major pieces of themselves and it is awe-inspiring.
Dylan and Oz are two very different people in two very different places in their lives, but they both deal with mental illness and they understand each other, even if they don't know they understand each other at first. It's a push and pull of heart ache and pain and hope.
I want to keep Oz safe and sound and never let him go. He deserves everything. My heart broke for him and I had to set my kindle aside and just sob because he just broke my heart.
Dylan didn't make me cry like a baby. But he still hurt my heart. While he seems to have it more together than Oz does it's just a coping mechanism that he's learn to hide his pain. Just because his hurt isn't as obvious does not mean he's less affected. Not only do the characters have two different illnesses, they also respond and react very differently. Which is normal that's what living with mental illness is like. No one responds the same.
These two authors hit all the points with this one book. They describe what it's like to try to live a "normal" life. They show how hard it is to try to pretend you're okay when you're not.
This book is so good. And I had so many "me" moments while reading. I have a love/hate relationship with that. Because it's hard to know that someone else feels something similar to what you do. While it's a relief to know you're not alone it hurts because you don't wish that type of pain on anyone. But the darkness of your mind can be a lonely place and you just want to connect with someone. That's what happens to Dylan and Oz. They both want to connect, but fear that their mental health will prevent that. It's a never ending cycle.
I needed this book more than I was ready to admit until just now. I had a rough go last week and all the feelings the boys had and their strength to try just hit so hard and the truths of them dug in deep and I want to hold them and keep them safe and ugh. I need more of them.
There's hope and feels, and a blossoming love story that makes my heart sing among the heartache.
If you want to feel along with Dylan and Oz than I urge you to pick up Don't Let Go. It will hurt, but all the special ones do.
Wow, this story is not what I expected. It is EXQUISITE. Dylan is the lead singer in a #1 rock band. Sexy, confident a Dom by nature, always in charge. Oz is a graphic design artist who works at home. He's painfully shy, he sticks to the outskirts when in public. These two unique, beautiful, highly dysfunctional men, meet by complete happenstance. This was a moving beautiful story of two men trapped inside themselves. For one split glimmer in time, they made eye contact with a kindred spirit, who recognized their something unnamed and moved toward it. This story touched me SO deep inside. These characters were handled with everything on the table, with no holds barred. THIS is an INCREDIBLY BEAUTIFUL, TOUCH YOUR DYSFUNCTIONAL SOUL, LOVE STORY!!! I fell SO in love with Dylan and Oz. They are courageous, funny and determined above all else. I can't wait to see where the next book takes these two brave, beautiful men. I HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK!!!!
A different take on BDSM fiction - this book is more about two lonely men getting to know each other than about kinks. It deals with mental disorders, but don't let it spook you off. Those that are depicted here - depression, for example - are what many people struggle with on a daily basis without even recognizing it for an illness. "Don't Let Go" is very emotional, but not overly sentimental. It's the first part of a longer story, and I'm interested to know what happens to Dylan and Oz in the next book - both are very likeable.
This was an emotional rollercoaster of emotions.. it was superb.. it was horrible(not in a bad way haha).. and it was just all around an amazing story.. the emotions are raw in this.. they are real and rough in some spots to read. it was wonderfully written by two amazing authors. the two collaborating together was superb. i am so proud of these two and cannot wait to see what they do next together!
Voto 3,5
Emotional, gritty, heartbreaking and soul mending read. This story was really well written and i think each word was so nicely chosen. The authors deal with some very difficult subject matter in a really gentle and honest way. The characters are so well done that you will feel that you know them and look for them on the street.
Dylan and Oz have some serious struggles that will hurt your heart, however they do find the sunshine for their HEA. I needed my box of tissues and my emergency chocolate, however it was a book experience that will go with me. Don't Let Go has all the feels!!
I would recommend choosing a time to read this incredible story when you can savor and experience it. The story is still in progress and it does end on a good point, but their is much more to come for this couple.
I was gifted this book from the author and i freely give my review
There is so much I love about this. The realism of both the story and the characters is amazing. I tend to get in and be attached to characters in books I read but I don't relate as much as I did these two. To see the way the cops and don't cope and their reactions knowing I do some of the same things. The rambling and apologizing being two of them. I personally want to thank both authors for writing this. Knowing you aren't the only one and seeing written proof that others understand has a special meaning for me. It lets me know that though I may have people around me who think I just have weird quirks, these two ladies get it and if I saw them in person, there wouldn't be any of the looks i sometimes get. Well maybe for my hair and clothes lol.
Two men, both with mental health issues, somehow are going to give a relationship a go. The story only covers about 2 weeks in time. And at 179 pages, the book tried to cover so much.
Dylan is a rock star and a Dom and has bipolar and panic attacks. Oz has spent a year getting over an emotionally abusive relationship and has anxiety, PTSD, and Borderline DO.
I couldn’t grasp their attraction, especially when Oz was such a mess from the beginning.
So, everything was glossed over. The mental illness played the biggest part, but the short narrative didn’t do this arc justice. There’s one sex scene with D/s aspects. Not much of a music arc. The authors are talented because I’ve read other books by them. This felt rushed. There were even quite a few grammatical errors. Not their best work.
This book was an emotional ride for me. I was crying inside and struggled with anxiety because it was like reading about myself. I felt every pain and the self-questioning. I loved reading it and loved crying over it.
Dylan, the famous singer, and Oz, the graphic artist. I loved both character, and loved reading about their strenght. Dylan is a Dom and Oz is a Sub, but both men have anxiety. Oz's POV was the hardest to read, but it was cathartic. Especially at the end, when Dylan needed his help. The BDSM and d/s was good, and the erotic scenes hot as hell. Don't Let Go is a beautiful book, inside and out, but a bit short - lol, i want to read about them til the end of time. I can't wait the second book! Give it to me!!!!!
This story is painful and often heartbreaking, but it is also lovely and hopeful. Dylan and Oz each believe they are too damaged to find true happiness - and doubt that they even deserve it. As their relationship develops slowly, each begins to hope, and that might be the scariest thing of all. I love these men. Each provides support to the other, even as they doubt their ability to maintain a relationship. Each has to make the effort, over and over again, to let the other one in. The D/s dynamic make sense for Dylan and Oz. Though I know that their journey won't be easy in any way, I am looking forward to seeing how they grow in the next installment. This is a great start to what promises to be a wonderful love story.
Oz. Broken, abused, his trust in humanity pretty much destroyed. Self destructive with any and every person he came into contact with.
Dylan. Intuitive. Loving. No filters.
Both damaged battling their own demons with mental illness, both insanely talented.
“Sometimes I get stuck in the darkness of my brain and can’t find the way out. You seem to be the light that helps me want to find my way back.” Dylan’s complex lifestyle, catering to a fan base, his health and the scene—he’s everything Oz needed and didn’t realise.
This is a beautifully told tale. Read the sample, the content warnings. Delve into an emotionally charged story, written from experience.
This book was sooo angsty.. but in a good way. The authors did a fantastic job portraying two men with mental disorders. It really shows what it’s like to suffer the feelings of inadequacy. Dylan and Oz just want to be loved for who they are but both are afraid no one can accept them. This book is the beginning of what I hope turns into a happy ever after for both men. I recommend this book 🙂
Both Dylan and Oz struggled with depression and other mental health demons. The authors provided an insightful view of their struggles while still weaving a beautiful connection between them. The book is not a stand-alone as the ending was a cliffhanger. I’m looking forward to reading the next book.
I've read plenty of stories where mental health issues are the main focus and have been entertained by the story but this one just seemed to get totally bogged down by them. I found myself skimming the pages and then having to go back and read the page again because I was missing all the narrative. I'm sorry, it just did not catch my attention.
I love books with ‘broken’ MC’s. The depth, the struggle, but also the love and the caring. The saying ‘sorry’ too much hits very close to home. I struggled with the first date, it felt very very awkward and not endearing at all. I admire both writers because they wrote this from experience. Looking forward to book #2!
Oh my gosh!! Barely two chapters in and I was already crying and in love!! Dylan and Oz are just starting to get to know each other and have so much in common, it’s both fascinating and a little sad. This glimpse into mental illness is eye opening and I am loving learning little nuances and things to do and not to do. I cannot wait for the next book.
An emotional and heartbreaking story of two men who each have serious issues. Oz and Dylan go on an emotional journey as they get to know each other. It’s a very emotional story that deals with mental health issues and at times is hard to read but there is also a sweetness to these 2 characters that shines through. I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book.
I have bipolar so reading the story was very interesting to me. I like the depth of the characters in that they had their own issues that clashed at times. I was so involved in reading the story that I didn't check the page count and when it came to the end of the book I was surprised and then really upset. I read the next mini book and I'm desperately waiting for the second book.
I wasn’t sure what to expect from reading this book. This is my second book in the m/m romance genre that deals with mental illness and it’s both interesting and sad at the same. Dylan and Oz are likeable characters and deserves a chance at happiness despite their illness. It will be interesting to see how their story ends.
