This look back at a career as an L.A. City Fire Department Paramedic gives the reader an intimate insight into the 'job' of a Paramedic, and into the heart of those who choose to answer the call for help.
I am so glad I have never had to work with anyone like this. His medical and anatomical knowledge are lacking. His “stories” are just that. He has a Hero Complex, he is derogatory about women, including Nurses. He is tacky. The “stories” are boring and do not read as factual. I think he is a Creepy little man that I would not like to meet anywhere, let alone in the back of an Ambulance.
I love love love medical stories. This one was pretty good, I wavered between 3 and 4 stars. Did I mention I love medical stories, so I’ll give this 4 stars. 😀
I will say one thing positive about the book. It is a good book to take to the gym if you are working out on a treadmill since the chapters are VERY short. You can read 10 chapters or more doing a 30 minute workout. That being said, it's not one of the better books on emergency medicines. Also, the read became kind of tiresome near the end since the book appeared to go on longer than necessary.
