Hoss Cartright travels to bustling San Francisco, and into the seedy opium dens and back alleys of Chinatown, in order to rescue an innocent girl from her kidnappers
Stephen Calder being a nom de plume for two different writers, I've found that the even numbered Bonanza novels (this being #4) are far better than the odd numbered books. I've read it before and I'm reading it again. Hoss follows Hop Sing to San Francisco to find Hop Sing's little niece who was kidnapped into the seedy underworld of sex slavery and the opium trade. It is much grittier than the TV show, yet with the adult situations still fairly mild. Checked out from the Vestavia Library.
