I really enjoyed this clean historical romance. I received this for free and I voluntarily chose to review this story. I've given this a 5* rating. This was a real interesting story in many ways. First of all, Gunsmith is an occupation that I never really thought about, let alone read about. So with that woven around an older mail order bride and a not too young daughter, there is a lot going on in this story with a bit of a murder mystery stirred in the midst of it. Adding a dash of stubborn characters to it, makes it a hard to put down story. Stayed up late again, finishing this story
I enjoyed this series. Every book is great. You can count on an individual story line, strong characters and good grammar. I like the fact that it doesnt have a formula like some otherwise writers. Ms. Holt takes the time to research and make her stories intetesting.
One widowed father and one gun shy son wait at the train station for the father's mail order bride and her children. This story is chocked full of surprises and action. I enjoyed reading this book. I laughed and teared up. You will really like this book.
The was a delightful but dizzying book! Such swings, from the mail order bride's moods, to the "who done it" investigation, to the can't marry you/must marry you conversations! But the one thing that's predictable is that the gunsmith gets his bride!
Two widowed people will come together through mail order correspondence. With the arrival of Zylphia Speare comes her twenty-six-year-old daughter, Elizabeth Louise. Zylphia and George Hudson find an instant attraction and romance, both losing their spouses. For Morgan Hudson and Elizabeth Speare, there is uncertainty, and while chaperoning their parents, a friendship is forging. The story is a combination mystery-suspense romance, and in the end, the two Hudson men will be forever changed by the Speare women. “I can’t think of you as a sister, Lizzy Lou. I never cold.”
Very interesting story and a great history lesson. You never really know what's going to happen next, including whether See and Lizzy will stay in Mountain Home or leave. Another great book by Kristin Holt.
