Simple, but good. Kiddo enjoyed it so much we've requested all the others the library has in this series.

Published in 1997, this book features dated pictures (see the mullet on p. 24) in an otherwise interesting book that provides an overview of the manufacture of fireworks.

It is good for children who enjoy learning how things are made or for a reference. And it would be an appropriate summer nonfiction read, especially around the Fourth of July.

Interestingly enough, China is not mentioned once in this book. Many of the pictures feature one particular company, Grucci , which apparently is headquartered in New York.
