A diverse collection of easy-to-read short fiction with just the right combination of interesting plots, likeable characters, and satisfactory - often surprising- endings. They will make you laugh ("The Big L"), surprise you ("Something's In The Basement"), give you chills ("Brother Edwin"), touch you ("The Last Alternative"), leave you feeling sentimental ("Two Sleds"), or take you into the future ("The Carrier"). There is even a story of a seminary student who stuns the community with a spritual discovery. Thirteen stories with illustrations by award-winning artists.
A fun read! My favorite was the three part play by far. It had me laughing but also I was picking out bits of wisdom from it as well. I found the last story interesting as well in a theological sense.
Book is described as "Fun-filled Tales of mystery and imagination". It is not fun-filled or humorous. The best thing about the book is that it is only 167 pages. I kept reading, hoping the next story would be good. The last story was the best, but that's not saying much.
