Drawing on a wide range of scholarship, from ancient Roman historians and philosophers to the investigations of today's leading authorities, the author offers a fascinating picture of the historical, social, cultural and religious world out of which the New Testament emerged. This is a well written, highly understandable introduction to the New Testament. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in understanding how the bible was written, what the books were used for, and how this knowledge was communicated over time.
