Taken hostage in a bank robbery, the last person Detective Daniel Morley expects to find disguised as a robber is his ex-fiancée, FBI agent Bethany Walker. Now, with a mole in law enforcement putting Bethany’s life in danger, Daniel must join her undercover to protect her. But can this pretend couple confront the issues that ended their real relationship…and stay alive to claim a future together?
My review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Undercover Jeopardy. Kathleen is a great story teller. This is a great read and I'm sure you are going love it. The story is well written, action packed, and full of faith.
Police Detective Daniel Morley goes to the bank. As he writes the date on his deposit slip; bullets slam into the ceiling. He and everyone in the bank are taken hostage. Four thieves are there to rob the bank. Thing are not going well for the robbers. During the attack he finds his ex-girlfriend is one of the robbers. It has been a year since he saw her. He had expected to spend his life with her and then she just disappeared. She was FBI agent, could she be undercover? How can he help her when things start to go bad?
FBI Agent Bethany Walker is undercover; the last person she expected to see is the only man she had ever loved but had left behind. She steps in when one of the robbers goes after Daniel. Her handler had okay'd the robbery although they had notified the police force. Things go wrong and one of the robbers is shot. She tries to help her fellow robber. Where is her back up? Is there a mole in her department?
A journey into the world of undercover for these two. As a couple can they find out who the head of this illegal group is and keep each other safe? Can they live to try another time for a future? God has a plan for these two; a plan for a hope and a future. God has a plan for you too, a good plan and not for evil. Give Him your heart and watch Him work in your life.
I enjoyed the book and thought Daniel was great. Bethany was hard to like. She was cold and hard-hearted toward Daniel in the beginning, and while she did get better, I didn't believe the change. It wasn't an internal change as much as a desire to change him.
As far as the plot, there were loose-ends that were never explained. The author never tells the reader why some key things happened in the book. Without giving too much away, I'll just say there were some unexplained things where it seemed like someone was playing both law-enforcement and the criminals, but you never get a clear idea of why they did what they did.
This book had some references to praying, but there was little in the way faith content.
Undercover Jeopardy starts off with a bang! One minute Daniel Morley is waiting in line at the bank to make a deposit & the next he is in the middle of a bank robbery. One person he didn't expect to find is his old fiancé Bethany Walker to be one of the bank robbers. This is a great book with some twist and turns you didn't see coming.
Easy reading set in Chattanooga, Tenn. Bethany (FBI) and Daniel (CPD) meet again in the middle of a bank robbery after having broken up a year ago. Bethany is undercover and with Daniel's help and the CPD the case moves forward.
This had the potential to be a very good book, as the concept and story line were interesting. However, it felt like aspects of the story were underdeveloped, and the writing lacked depth. If it was more developed, then this would have been an excellent book.
Undercover Jeopardy is a second chance romantic suspense. The storyline keeps you on edge while rooting for the main characters, FBI agent Bethany and Detective Daniel to work out their past mistakes and find a new beginning together.
