This is a short, easy-to-read non-fiction text for lower elementary detailing the life cycle of a moth from egg to adult. The text is a large font size and key terms are bold. Hard words are also spelled out phonetically. The educational text is accompanied by photographs with notations pointing out specific terms. Some of the anatomy and key features of adult moths are also highlighted/explained. The end of the book provides a graphic showing the life cycle, a glossary of key terms, and an index.
I would have loved some more pictures for various features (like a close-up of the scales on the wings, and a page showing a variety of moths), but this was still a well-done book. A great choice for K-2 classrooms studying insects.
