I have the multi-volume book of embroidery techniques published by the Royal School of Needlework. It provides lots of inspiration and overview info on technique. This is the perfect book to expand in the area of embroidery painting with its provision of projects that enable the learner to practice step by step what is taught, eventually developing skills to create works of beauty. The photography of each step provides a clear illustration to accompany written instruction. I purchased the e-version of the book and am not disappointed -- it is just as easily useful to me as a hard copy would be.
