Woman from the Lake

Rate this book
Water cascaded from her hair as the woman emerged from the lake without one memory of how she got there. Something had propelled her forward to this moment but she had no idea what it was or why she could not remember anything. Trauma, either physical or emotional, but which and why? What harsh epitaph could be written about her past, and therefore, her future life? From the moment she rises and climbs up on the dock, the past reaches out to her, threatening to take her life.
In the moonlight she turns, shocked to find someone watching her. Soon, her safety becomes intertwined with a stranger, an unknown man. Was he placed in her path by fate, by some unknown guardian angel or by the ominous malevolence pursuing her? Unforeseen events hurry her toward the terrifying truths of her past. Was she betrayed by someone close to her? Will the unknown truths of the past clear in time to save her? And the other two who have become so important to her? Can she understand the fractured images flooding her mind in time to escape the cold-hearted malice waiting for her?

I'm a native Texan, mother of a large, all-grown family, and I love to spend time reading and writing. I'm also a movie-lover and, yes, I've been known to enjoy TV too! I studied English as an undergrad and in graduate school (great degree for anyone who wants to read a lot of good books!). I worked as an Assistant Librarian in a busy Branch Library where I did the Story Times for children and led the adult Book Club (still do, even though I don't work there any more). I would like to travel and see, first, more of this country and then, after that, who knows? And recently I completed a Master's in Education with a specialty in Reading. I guess it is true-you're never too old to learn!

I liked this book! It kept me guessing through out. I appreciated the epilogue. It answered questions I still had. Good read!
