Kombrinck continues to impress with his stories. I'd read (and very much enjoyed) the novella The Blessed Resurrection previously, but the other stories here were all new to me. There's some very good short flash fiction here (Mr. Flyspeck and Lily's Prayers are especially good). And two of the longer pieces are just terrific. Permanent Residents is a wonderful haunted hotel story with Lovecraftian undertones, and Blood Oranges is a brilliant oddity, creepy with an original feel. I look forward to more of his work in the future.
