OUR STORY
A beat-up old car, a few dollars in the pocket and a sense of adventure. In 1972 that’s all Tony and Maureen Wheeler needed for the trip of a lifetime – across Europe and Asia overland to Australia. It took several months, and at the end – broke but inspired – they sat at their kitchen table writing and stapling together their first travel guide, Across Asia on the Cheap. Within a week they’d sold 1500 copies and Lonely Planet was born. One hundred million guidebooks later, Lonely Planet is the world’s leading travel guide publisher with content to almost every destination on the planet.

Useful as a reference guide and to learn about the various regions of Canada. Especially useful for planning where to visit and what to do in different locations.

my sister is moving to canada so i bought this a little present for her but couldn’t help flicking through myself. the lonely planet guidebooks are so well researched and full of things to do and places to see that you wouldn’t necessarily think of. the fact that they include things that the locals are aware of, but tourists might not necessarily be, makes it all the more exciting when you flick through deciding where to add to your list while you visit. definitely my favourite travel books and can’t wait to steal it off my sister when i go visit her !
